Who says, that the bard is the champion? Maybe it’s something like with Braum, where only a story is told, by a bard in this case. We literally dont know anything about the champ itself right now. Just some random stories.
It’s not “just some random stories.” A group of stories put together will have a connection. If they appear to be random, that just means you didn’t look for the connection.
The story is a bard talking about bards as a whole. It’s a story about the profession, about it’s birth, about what is important to them, about how they craft stories, and about where they get inspiration from. A focus in this story is the tales that the sky tells them.
The constellations are the basis of some stories that these bards tell. There exists a story of Freljord. There exists a story of Shurima. There exists a story of the Shadow Isles. And recently, in the sky, appeared a story of Bard, one who spoke the truth.
Emphasis has been put on “bard.” It is the namesake of these storytellers that became the bards. It can’t be the main focus of a story if it has nothing to do with the champion.
I’d guess it’s a prophet of sorts, probably quite aged, from somewhere along the great barrier, assuming he has relations to the mountains.
no, no. you guys have it all wrong. new champ is obviously some sort of OP celestial being and each of the symbols on SR is clearly just an origin point for one of his 4 global laser abilities which create a line in between him and a different symbol based on which button he presses.

holy damn my sides, I laughed way more than I should.
I just had possibly the most memorable ARAM game I’ve ever had.
So I get Syndra. Nice, haven’t played since last summer. Let’s see how the changes are!
Then… I accidentally bought the wrong thing, and by the time I noticed, the shop had closed… so I had nooo mana regen.
I played safe, and picked up a couple kills, but eventually we were down 10 kills. For some reason my whole team decided that they would just sit in front of their second tower. Our first isn’t even down!
So now I’m a manaless Syndra farming in (unknowingly) a 1v5. A Fizz tries to jump at me, and a Nasus zones a bit, but I have my E to keep me safe.
10 minutes pass. Yes, 10 minutes! By this time I’ve died a couple times and got some items, so now I have mana. Strangely my bad early game went unpunished… Ashe says “This is boring.”
I actually didn’t even know they were all sat out until this. I just thought they saw my mana struggles and decided to play safe nearby. When I realized that they just weren’t playing, I asked why. I’m the only person above level 14. Fiddle complains about how the enemy were fed (only the Nasus was, and he wasn’t being aggressive.)
Meanwhile the enemy Ezreal goes afk! (Apparently he had horrible ping.)
Another 5 minutes later Aatrox decides to play. We get some kills. The rest of the team join in, apart from Fiddle, who runs into 1v4s and says “see! We should just play safe behind tower instead of giving free kills.”
We were unamused…
After bullying Ori and Fizz, and after Aatrox took a bunch of kills, Yi farmed up, and Ashe got her PD, Fiddle joined in.
I bait someone. Get them low. Ashe arrow slows them. Stun the enemy team. Aatrox swoops in. Yi comes for cleanup duty, and then Fiddle has a party. Suddenly we have the enemy nexus exposed.
34 minutes…
this is madness…
Well, Riot going more and more creative. Really nice to see a champion like this in league.
I am really looking forward to this champ, since I really like to roam around as a support. Helping mid, scouting their jungle and setting some wards, and this champ helps me not fall behind, when I do so.
first DJ Sona game. After we both completely forgot to buy items, (all da hype, lol) we completely obliterated them

Bard looks really fun. I think he’s really well designed. You’re probably going to be roaming in the jungle a lot, and both his Q and his E work really well in the Jungle. A 10 sec W + Ardent heals for so much.
I have seen some footage of him and I just cant get over the fact that in my opinion he is weak and his scaling is pretty weak in late game.
Nice to see creative stuff from Rito but… I dont know, I tought Im gonna be impressed more.
There’s just this feeling like something is missing about Bard but dont know what… meh

Well… he’s not meant to be a damage dealer. Most of the damage he does deal will come from his passive upgrades.
He is extremely mobile, with stuns, heals, terrain bypasses and the ability to stall an area of the game. He has so much utility, and I can see him working well in a mobile comp or an engage comp, or helping the jungler out in a lane swap situation.
Teamfights in the jungle? Great.
Tower dives? Great.
Ganking support? Great.
Saving out-of-position teammates? Great.
I think the big problem right now is that people aren’t playing him as the roaming support he is.
He’s not a Blitz or an Alistar with big potential engages.
He’s not a Janna with big disengage.
He’s not a Thresh with strong teamfight presence.
He is a pick-and-choose support. He can set up a fight, or create an escape opportunity. He can set up an ambush, or quickly create a flank. He can keep his team caught up when they are behind, and he can stall the enemy when ahead.
Caught out in the jungle? E away.
Enemy team grouped up? Q to stall a couple.
Team mates need an escape route or some extra health? Throw down a W.
Jungler coming in for a badly timed gank? R.
Need to get the team around the map quickly? E.
Going for a gank? Q.
Need a speedboost? W
Want to keep the enemy away from an objective? R.
Lots of objective control. Lots of “hidden” map pressure. There’s probably a lot of other things that I haven’t even noticed with my noob vision~
RedMercy’s support video is the only one I’ve seen so far that touches upon what he is supposed to be.

I’m actually with @IkaCZ on this one, I don’t think he looks very strong at this point. fun to play, yes, but not strong. that said, regardless of how strong he is, he could change the meta if he becomes popular.
also, anyone else here have a PBE account? I’d be willing to get on and try him out for a bit if someone else has one.

I had a PBE account, but gave it away to my friend because I was having big ping and it was glitchy at times. I regret it now since there is so much new stuff xd.
But I think on the LoL page you can go and make a new PBE account no? At least I saw it that you can do it.
you can apply for one, but it may take a while to actually get one as far as I know.
