Those Days when AP xin was really fun and people wont flame you for trolling… sigh I want those back.
Oh btw what do you say about Revive being taken out from Summoners Rift?
My personal reaction was: NOOOOOOO WHYYYY?? cries in corner
This game was pretty troll. I like gave absolutely no shit. I 1v1 most of them and came out victorious and I think there are buffs for Xin on the PBE (Probably because a skin is coming out).
As for Revive: I never really used it, but I was still sad to see it go. It was fun to pick it up from time to time.
Revive is one of those spells that I never used, and then one day decided to use in a cheese jungle build, before realizing that it was taken out of the game…
YOU NEVER TRIED REVIVE/TP KARTHUS…?!
Well I did and it was reaaaaally fun. Phantoml0rd style huehue. Poor phantoml0rd cant play his karthus now.
Even I used it once in a while cuz it was really good in some matches lol.
I never liked playing as Karthus. Not my style~
Yes, my team is officially B5 now. And it looks like I’ll be staying mid after all.
The good news is, the next few games will be pure noob slaying. Time to unleash my mediocre Yasuo ^^
PS: No matter how you look at it, “Wukong’s Archangels” feels so wrong in so many ways…
Was that done on purpose? o.o How did you guys do in placements?
They have a sneaky team comp~ It’s like… so many flex picks! Those Nocturne ults would be scary…
FLY MY PRETTIES! FLLLLYYY
I wouldn’t worry too much about where your team placed. My ranked team consists of a Master Tier, 2 Platinums, and 2 Golds; but we still got placed into bronze. That also means you probably won’t be slaying as many noobs as you think, so watch out for that one.
Also, congrats on being picked as Mid lane. I consider it my strongest role, but I got forced into jungle this season by my teammates because I was the only one to actually pick it up at the beginning of the season, meaning I’m the only one really familiar with the changes. If you ever need some Mid lane advice though, I’m happy to help!
These PBE changes must be a godsend. Once the big 4 Junglers get banned away you are left with champs that are either dependent on lvl 6 to gank, or downright stressful to play.
nah, the real godsend was when they made all the jungle items give you bonus gold for killing large monsters. Before that you just couldn’t get enough gold to do what needed to be done. As of right now though, the only one of the main 4 I really play is J4. I can play Rek’Sai or Vi if we need it in the comp, but they’re not my best. Nautilus has been my main in the jungle for quite some time now, and I don’t think he really has any problems as of right now.
Jungle in general can be really stressful right now though; since they basically ARE the game in the current meta. if your jungler is behind you’re basically screwed, so there’s a lot of pressure on them to make sure everything is going well.
We placed 32nd out of 50 according to lolking.
We won 1 out of 5 games during our provision. The one game we won, we totally dominated. But in the other 4, we basically just got kicked around by golds and plats. For instance, that lee from the last game placed plat V last season and Nocturne is Gold II. In our second game, the enemy even joked around, like blitz carrying Tristana’s bomb over to his adc, but by mid game, they all had picked up Sword of the occult or Mejai’s Soulstealer due to how far ahead they’ve gotten.
Riven went mid. She was ok, but there wasn’t much she could do against me. I got 1 or 2 solo kills on her in the laning phase. Incidentally, I went 5/6/3 that match. We were actually ahead on kills in the early game, but the blind man counterjungled like crazy and they ALWAYS got dragon and their CS was also much better. Come mid game, Nocturne became indestructable. They got baron. We successfully defended all inhibitor turrets until the buff ran out, but couldn’t really leave our base. Then they got another baron. Again, they couldn’t get through. When the third baron spawned, we went out to check and got ambushed. gg.
In that case, would you help me pick out more champs for my mid lane pool? I mean, I have over 15 champs that can be put in mid, but they’re either comparatively weak to the meta champs or I’m just too inexperienced at playing them. Currently, I play Xerath, mediocre Yasuo and occasionally Vel’Koz.
I used to play Viktor in team builder, but he needs to get close for a full combo, which usually gets me rekt. I thought about picking up an assassin, like Akali or Katarina. (My gut is telling me that picking Kha’Zix mid isn’t a good Idea. Though Kha used to be my main back in my jungle days…)
Woah woah woah, are you guys TSM?
Sure!

I have over 15 champs that can be put in mid
15 is a lot. I can probably find that many that I can play, but I’m only really able to play at top performance with 5 or 6. The main thing to think about with your champ pool is that you are very comfortable with at least 1 or 2 champions from each potential role that you might need. So an example would be if they’re clearly picking a “protect the ADC comp” then you pull out an assassin, or if your team wants to siege towers you pick Xerath or Azir. Once you have that, just pick whichever champions you find fun, NOT the OP champions. My personal example for this is Diana. She’s not even that good, but I find her play style really fun and she ended up being probably my best mid laner, despite her weaknesses.

My gut is telling me that picking Kha’Zix mid isn’t a good Idea.
whether or not it’s a good idea shouldnt be what you’re thinking. If you want to play it just try it out in a few games. maybe you’d be surprised at how well it works and he might become one of your mains. worst case scenario it flops 2 or 3 games in a row and you decide that you actually don’t want to play it.
occasionally Vel’Koz.
I just wanna touch on something here. Vel’Koz is probably my 2nd or 3rd best mid laner at the moment, but apparently my build path on him is unusual. People ask me why I have 3.5k health on Vel’Koz, and I tell them maths. Basically, his highest scaling ratio is 60%, and that’s on his ultimate. I basically took that as a “don’t build Hat on this guy” and tried to model a build around it. CDR isn’t huge on him either, since his W gets stacks and you rarely have to use more than 2 in quick succession. This means that his build is actually a lot more open than most mid laners and he can build basically whatever he wants and still do damage. I’ve ended 45 minute games with 350 AP, but even with that I felt like I was contributing a significant chunk of damage.
Anyway, moral of the story, go for stats that you need specific to the game on him, not just a ton of AP; because it won’t help you much anyways.
Voilà my champion pool. I picked some champs cause I liked them and some because I wanted to try out every champ at least once. I never completely committed to any one role or champ or mode. But whenever I want to concentrate on a certain task, I always feel that I need to buy a new champ, one that’s much more specialized for it than any of those I already posess.
As you can see, I need a mid assassin, since Kassa and Fizz got nerfed (I never mastered them anyway…)
Mid assassin? I’d say Ahri, Zed or Talon… Katarina can be fun too. Assassins aren’t in a great spot right now though.
It might be worth trying out Anivia. Not an assassin, but pretty good in the mid lane. You might want to pick up Morgana too. She’s good in multiple lanes.
Anivia is probably in the top 3 hardest mid laners to play right now. Right up there with Azir and Cass. Granted, she is absurdly strong if you get her down, just know that it won’t be easy to get into.
Lux? Oh Karma… Kassadin?
Freelo
Lux is really good in a lot of situations since she has really big range and does a lot of dmg. Rito once said that lux is one of the fastest spell spamming combos champs :D. I remember that clearly on forums. Jayce is pretty good too btw ;D.
I could play garen mid and still win against like ahri, it really depends on your mechanics so I’ll say any champ is good you have there :D.
But for now I would go for lux or karma theyre not that hard and they do a lot of dmg ;D.
Zed, talon, ahri, katarina are the best now if you ask me. AND ALSO NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT BROKEN CHAMP LE BLANC … DELETE IT PLS.
But you can bring something really old like froggen’s midlane lee sin :p.
I personally love zed mid. He is my “safe” pick if I want to win or Im mad ;p.
Yup. Even with the small nerfs, Ahri is still great. Talon has been rising as the others get nerfed, and Zed is Zed. Katarina is the typical solo queue assassin and probably always will be.
Fortunately the nerfs are still coming, so those pesky assassins will be even more butchered!
Kass getting nerfed for his blink. Meanwhile Leblanc can dash in, cause havoc, and then just decide to teleport out of the fight.
As a big Ori player, Zed is probably the only assassin I enjoy playing against. It’s a full-on skill match-up. No sneaky tricks. The others are either too boring or too annoying.
Oh, and screw Fizz. He was the worst of them all.
I used to hate Fizz as a champion, then I played against him as Diana a couple times. That’s one of the silliest match ups in my opinion because EVERY Fizz player thinks they win against another melee, so they try to all in you at like level 3, and most of them don’t realize until they have like 200 health left that they’re losing the fight. Diana also scales a lot harder than him in the late game too, but not many people realize that either.
That stupid little jump he does! So annoying. What am I supposed to do? Where do I aim the ball?
WHY DOESN’T IT COME APART SO EASILY??? Damn fish.
