Introduce Yourself!

87 apparently!

Here goes my ā€œdos centavosā€:

  • Where in the world do you live?

Mootxico; some miles north of Mexico City. A fairly calm town near one of the biggest cities in the world >:3

  • What Key games or Anime have you read/watched?

Anime: Both Kanon adaptations; both Air adaptations; Clannad and After Story by Kyoto Animation; Angel Beats! by P.A. Works, and Little Busters! and Refrain by JC Staff. Have yet to see LB!EX OVAs. Also, I havenā€™t watched Clannad movie

VNs: All but Rewrite (RL stuff kept me from starting), Rewrite HF (Rewrite required for this one), Kud Wafter (not enough Japanese knowledge), and LB!EX (at least, the parts that not were in the vanilla LB!). It even includes the pre-Key VNs such as MOON, and One

  • Which was your first, and which is your favourite?

Anime: Air TV was what introduced me to Key works and make me discover Fred Gallagher is (was?) a Key fan from much longer than I. It has a special place in my heart and during years was among my favorite anime of all time

VN: Planetarian. There was a time when this was the only Key VN fully translated; Air VNTL has been taken and dropped at least twice, Clannad was in an open wiki and Kanon progressed at a snailā€™s pace. Little Busters! didnā€™t even existed back then. Long were the years before I started reading the other VNs en masse. Only Air and Little Busters! were able to make me cry but I liked the others too <3

Stalking various Key fansā€™ Twitter accounts, they were talking about the creation of this forum.

BONUS OPTIONAL QUESTION:

Tell us something interesting about yourself, something about our website that interested you, or something funny.

  • TACOS!!!
  • I have seen many fads come and go but somehow Key works have stuck on me for the lastā€¦ 8 years already? Wow! Also, Key works have been the beacon of both personal improvement and innovation
  • Non-Key interests? Kancolle. Old 80ā€™s arcade games, Portal 1&2, the Wolfenstein series (a.k.a. the Nazi killing games), Music in general (from classic to metal to Key Sounds Label), some anime (Steins;Gate, Madoka, TTGL, SZS, Nanoha, Aria, Azumanga Daioh come to mind)ā€¦

Hello there!

Vatina here, been watching the website for a while and thought Iā€™d try and sign up for the forums

Hmm as for what Key stuff I have read/watched, one of my first introductions into the whole VN medium was learning about the then-new Air anime through reading Megatokyo. I instantly fell in love with it, and ended up importing the Kanon game from Japan while the translation was still underway.

I have watched Air, Kanon 2006, Clannad and Angel Beats, and have read Planetarian, Kanon, Little Busters and Rewrite.

There is generally stuff I find charming about Key works, even if I find some of them do have their faults as well. My favourite so far is definitely the Little Busters vn, and the Kanon anime.

Kazamatsuri I found through twitter! Been following it there for a little while, after catching a retweet from someone else.

Iā€™m an artist/writer and work on visual novels myself, my latest work has been the fantasy vn Blue Rose. As such I will probably mostly be taking part in posting art and the like! Nice to meet you all

Welcome!

Wow, Blue Rose? What parts did you work on?

Oh you know it? I was the writer/programmer/lineart artist heh.

I havenā€™t read it yet (Iā€™m not doing very well financially ;A;) but Iā€™ve heard of it. I follow Winter Wolves quite a bit, and I remember somehow finding it through them~

Lineart artist? So someone else did the coloring/shading? @.@ Sounds confusing. Itā€™s nice to have an experienced creative person here! Weā€™re sorely lacking >.>

Oh thatā€™s great to hear  And no worries, we canā€™t all play everything at once.
And yeah, I had a different person colour the characters, and a third did most of the backgrounds. Doing almost all of the game was a big task, so that helped me out a lot in finishing things.

Welcome. Glad to have you here.

Welcome @Vatina! Weā€™re definitely in need of more creative types around here :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks, and good to hear  Looking forward to it.

Gotta come up in here and be all cool and stuff~ :stuck_out_tongue:
Welcome ~! Itā€™s a huge pleasure to have you. ^^ Iā€™ll have to check out that VN. :o

Hi Iā€™m a fan Clannad, Rewrite, Planetarian
I found this site by Google searching Sekai & Planetarian whilst looking for press coverage.
Iā€™m a self trained digital artist and I have done several Clannad Fan Pieces
Currently I work in Visual Novel Marketing/PR for studios such as Lupiesoft with Sekai Project as our Publisher.
Iā€™m becoming more and more involved in the visual novel western scene as time goes on and hope to help it grow.

My fav arc in Clannad is Misaeā€™s

@Inuconandoyle Yes you can call me that  Youā€™l see seen my extended involvement in other Visual Novels more publicly

@Vatina Just checked out your Beautiful work

Yaaay, Misae. That was a very fun route. The routine was relaxing, and it got really interesting. Surprisingly we donā€™t have a discussion thread for Misaeā€™s route, but itā€™s very popular here~

Maybe somebody should make one
