Introduce Yourself!

Good to see more Rewrite fans, as well! That’s kind of surprising, considering it’s the only one without an anime adaptation.

Aww man it just isn’t the same, getting the oppai route by yourself

But but Yusa is really creepy :frowning:

@DaiVel and @Seacliff Yay! More people! Hello! Welcome! Exclamationpoint!
This site is more serious for me, and you all discuss and analyze Key works. In other Key fan sites, people just post pictures of the characters or they do surveys asking “what is your favorite ‘insert somethig’?”, no more, and most of them ignore what is behind the anime.
but dropped Air
I also did this^. Decided it was probably better in VN form anyway. Hopefully we will be starting Air Bookclub within the next month.

As is customary, may I inquire of how you discovered this community?

#YOU PASS!

Seeing as we’re getting accustomed to asking everyone how they found the site, I decided to add some introduction prompts to the OP instead. Any old members who see them and feel like answering, you may also feel free to do so :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure, I’ll respond to the new prompts. In fact. I’ll essentially redo my intro. It’s gonna be bloated, so brace yourselves.

Hello everybody, I’m LinkThinks. I kinda lurked here for a while but finally decided to join up when I saw the Planetarian book club come up the day after I read it. Not like I’ve been here long, but you’ve all been really great and friendly so far, so I gotta thank you for that. Key’s works have always impressed and interested me, and holding (generally) mature discussion with a handful of people from around the world is something I never thought I’d experience, honestly. Plus I came in at the head of a surge of new people, so the community’s growing daily. Once again, gotta thank everybody here for being so welcoming. I felt right at home with ya’ll.

Q. Where in the world do you live?
A. I live in the United States. Minnesota to be specific. We’re a frigid bunch up here.

Q. What Key games or Anime have you read/watched? Which was you first, and which is your favourite?
A. I’ll list them in the order that I watched and read them. First, I saw Clannad. That was my gateway of sorts into Key-dom. After Story came the following day. Kanon (2006) the day after that. A couple years later and I start reading more visual novels. I pick up Rewrite off a friend’s recommendation, and go for Little Busters after that. And finally, I read Planetarian while lying in bed a week ago. I’d have to say that Rewrite was probably my preferred Key novel. Perhaps that’s part bias, maybe it just resonated more with me. EDIT: I also watched Angle Beats a couple times somewhere in there.

Q. How did you find Kazamatsuri.org?
A. Some Reddit thread on the /r/visualnovels. Couldn’t tell you why it linked here. It was probably the Rewrite Vita article. The cleanliness of the site impressed me, so I added it to my bookmarks and clicked here every blue moon. When the Planetarian book club cropped up on that same reddit page, and the day after I read it as well, I knew that I had to sign up for it. Things like that are just really enjoyable for me.

Q. Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A. Sure, sure. I got my name from a comic my friend made in fifth grade. The comic, titled Link Thinks, was about Link from the Legend of Zelda attempting to operate a toaster. I’m not entirely sure when I adopted the name, but it’s stuck with me ever since. I’m just glad I picked a name as good as LinkThinks and not something really awful that’d haunt me forever.

Hopefully I can go on some great adventures with you guys.

Being creepy (and troll) is her charm

Well, I’m going to answer this questions:

  • Where in the world do you live?
A: I’m from Chile, I hope you know where it is, because it’s a country little known :disappointed:
  • What Key games or Anime have you read/watched? Which was your first, and which is your favourite?
A: I watched all the anime adaptation, except Kanon 2002 (Character desings are so ugly xD). My first was Clannad, I loved it so much that I started to look for more about its creators and I found Kanon 2006, Angel Beats! and Air. I wanted more, and I did read something about visual novels, but I didn’t know what on earth they were. So, I research about it and I found a page for download Rewrite with english patch. I follow the instructions and I could install Rewrite. I loved it, more that Clannad. Later, I knew there was an anime adaptation of Little Busters!, so I did read Little Busters! before watching the anime. In general, I didn’t like so much LB! compared to Rewrite or Clannad, but Haruka’s route and Refrain was (still is) the best I read/watched of Key. Afterward, I read Clannad, Tomoyo After, Planetarian and Air. There will be a spanish patch for Kanon in a few months, so I’ll read it.

A: Some posts ago I said it

@yerian98
I will at least say Air started out pretty good, it’s real problem was how much content they tried to fit in so few episodes. Some people say Angle Beats suffered from a similar problem.
Though one day when I have enough time to read a full VN, I’ll read Air.

Okay now on to the questions

  • Where in the world do you live?
-Not far from Washington DC, every year there is the Japanese Sakura Festival which is AWESOME.
  • How did you find Kazamatsuri.org?
-On the Steam Forum page for Planetarian which was posted by Aspirety.
  • Favorite Key Girl

BONUS OPTIONAL QUESTION?!

Tell us something interesting about yourself, something about our website that interested you, or something funny.: Key works helped me gain a special power of self suggestion and more or less the attitude to ‘carve my own path’. Since stumbling upon them, I’ve started or more vigorously continued in playing guitar, reading and exploring more works, singing, drawing, exploring photography, looking into writing itself, spreading the joy that they’ve given me and much much more.

… That’s the most interesting thing I could come up with at the moment, but it is true. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’ll come~
Also welcome! ^^

My problem with it was that the second half was just awful. The VN didn’t really improve much for me.
Angel Beats definitely suffers from how few episodes it had. There was a massive time skip near the end that cut out lots of stuff.

Since old man Biz did one, I’ll fill in the intro things too~

  • Where in the world do you live?

Whitby, England. Place where Dracula was written/filmed and the fudge capital of England~

  • What Key games or Anime have you read/watched? Which was your first, and which is your favorite?

VNs: Kanon, Air, Clannad, Planetarian, Tomoyo After, Litbus, Rewrite, and Harvest Festa. My first Key VN was Kanon, and Planetarian came shortly after~ My favorite is Tomoyo After.
Anime: Kanon, Air-TV, Clannad, Litbus, Angel Beats. My first and favorite is Kanon.

I remember checking Sheeta Su’s twitter timeline thing for an Air TL update and saw a tweet about Kazamatsuri.org on it.

I didn’t know Sheeta tweeted about this site~
I actually invited her to join us but she declined, so that’s a little surprising.

Oh no, I saw the invite that she declined :stuck_out_tongue: She didn’t tweet about the site.

So @Aspirety, about how many users are there now?

Oh man, I love that picture! Chibimoth is just totally adorbs~ :3

Well, since I feel like it, might as well add in my info!

  1. Where in the world do you live?
    • Philippines! But I will be staying in Japan the week after next for 1-2 years for my Master’s studies.
  2. What Key games or Anime have you read/watched? Which was you first, and which is your favourite?
    • Watched: Kanon 2006, Air, Clannad, Angel Beats, Little Busters; Read: Kanon, Clannad, planetarian, Little Busters, Rewrite. My first was Kanon 2006, as recommended by an anime forum I used to frequent. That didn’t really get me hooked yet since, at that time, there wasn’t much Key works available in English yet (I watched it back in 2007). Asking me to choose a favorite is just torture, though :frowning: But the way I see it is: best individual routes = Rewrite, best main route = Little Busters, best of both = Clannad
  3. How did you find Kazamatsuri.org?
    • I answered this in Skype, but never in the forum :stuck_out_tongue: Anyway, I have @uppfinnarn added in my Google contacts list because I used to be involved with the development of Fuwanovel back before it was even released. I tried using the “Import Google contacts to Twitter” feature and saw him on Twitter. Although I never spoke to him personally, I decided, “what the hey”, and added him up. Saw him tweet about Kazamatsuri and, well… here I am!
  4. Tell us something interesting about yourself.
    • Gonna copy @LinkThinks on this one by answering about my name. Pepe (pronounced “peh-peh”, not “peep”!) is my genuine, real life nickname. Ergo, everyone I know, family, friends, online friends, call me Pepe. I had this silly idea to use my real nickname in a forum back when I was 13 or so (because really, who does that on the Internet) and kept it since then. Oh and, if you may or may not have noticed, I gratuitously use emoticons

Haha you must be feeling pretty proud about that, eh

Unfortunately, for that same search, Kazamatsuri.org only appears on page 2 for me ._.

I kinda want a plushie Chibimoth. It’d be just the thing to keep around and hug every now and again.

Ehhh? 1-2 years? That’s really impressive, man. Hope you get to do some crazy stuff while you’re there.

Also how could Pepe ever be pronounced Peep? I don’t see it at all. Like, wouldn’t “peh-peh” be the only way to say it?

I have the mobile phone Chibimoth accessory from the Harvest Festa LE, and that was actually one of my main reasons for buying that game :stuck_out_tongue:

And I dunno about crazy stuff, but I wanna take my studies seriously ;~; So that takes priority over anything else. Though I will try to visit events (like that sale that happened in Akiba during august, or maybe KeyPoints convention).

Ask @Aspirety

Oh my god. I never knew I desperately need this in my life.
