Are you playing on normal or hard? or… lunatic?
I’m playing on hard - I also played on hard my first time through. I’ll probably attempt lunatic at some point or another, but I honestly find that lunatic difficulty in most fire emblem games is of the more frustrating variety of difficult rather than satisfying, and just imagining chapters 10, 19, and 20 on lunatic is already making me shudder.

I didnt know she was a prepromote until I found out she couldnt promote
I didn’t even bother swapping her class. Heals and a good offensive weapon that works both melee and ranged. No reason to give that up imo.
Yeah, I didn’t know Felicia/Jakob were prepromotes until I promoted Elise and found out she could promote to maid.
I honestly think Felicia is better as a strategist because her strength stat/growth is shite anyway, but I never changed Jakob away from butler.
Yesssss I beat chapter 10. Apparently avatar + silas with C or more support is op cuz by letting avatar go less than 50% hp then switch to silas, silas now has +5 damage -5 damage taken which makes him hella strong. osananajimi op i guess
tfw you’ve spent about an hour on Chapter 25 of Conquest, do everything right, get to the boss under the turn limit, only to have him unleash 2 astras and a crit killing one of your units forcing you to restart. This has happened to me more than once in the last 3 chapters. 
Edit: Conquest Endgame is the worst thing ever.
Edit 2: tfw you overwrite your Conquest save file trying to start Birthright.

I beat chapter 20 so the rest up until the end should be easier…
Odin with vengeance, vantage, astra and forged killing edge is hilarious. Its like 50% crit all the time.
Chapter 21 was honestly the hardest chapter for me the first time around, and I only barely finished it the second time around, so it won’t be easier.
I tried chapter 21 after doing a paralogue and I’m just like ugh this shit… I tried like 5 times and lost but what do you expect from conquest anyways? At this point I’m willing to bet that it normally takes at least 6 tries for me to complete a chapter. Or I could do more paralogues to get that exp and then dominate but then I might be over leveled and have a harder time later… oh well 
My first go through I just cheesed chapter 21 by only using Camilla and MU and flying from point to point to freeze the enemies. It took like 2 resets or so before RNG favored me enough to let me through. Of course, my Camilla in that runthrough was pretty strong (she was like level 16 Wyvern Lord at the time of that level), so it might not work so well if your Camilla isn’t up to snuff.
The second time through I had to reset twice, but I just did it more conventionally and basically wiped the map of faceless save for the ones that spawn at the bottom. I had Ophelia with a forged mjolnir so that she could one shot the golems provided she crit, and a Berserker Charlotte with a forged killer axe to accomplish the same thing. It’s a lot of hoping for RNG crits, but between the two of them I usually managed to avoid too many sticky situations involving the golems. Effie took like 1-2 damage from the faceless per hit, so I generally had her leading the charge and just having the rest of my dudes pick them off.
The fact that they all have savage blow is really what made it difficult for me, but fortunately Effie is so tanky that it barely mattered.
I’d suggest doing the paralogues unless you’re waiting to pass down certain skills to the child units.
I finished during a car ride. It took a really long time though. My goal was basically to bait out the golems and then kill them one by one which I did. I used Camilla to bait a few sets of spawns to buy me some time so I didn’t have to worry about half of them. My Camilla isn’t nearly as powerful so mobility was the only real advantage she had.
So I’ve been making my way through Birthright. I understand that this game is supposed to be the easier one, but they went overboard with it. I’m on Chapter 18 right now, and there has been like no challenge. I’m just constantly destroying everyone in my path with every unit I have.
I also have to say that I found it really stupid of them to kill Kaze. If you were using him, then that’s just a lot of experience lost. Kaze was also one of my better units, and for some reason had some of the highest defense. I would have been fucked if this was Conquest, but I’m still able to make it through without him.
Kaze lives if he has at least an A-rank support with MU.
Conquest 21 was pretty easy for me. I remember my friend saying 20 and 24 were the hardest chapters for him, but they were so easy! I’m stuck at 27/Endgame now >:(
Did you run out of paralogues to grind?
I can unlock Odin and Benny’s children, but I benched them when I got them so support grinding will be an issue lol
