IIRC the program isn’t aimed specifically at love. It’s aimed at anything that would cause a person to want to stay in the afterlife… or something like that.
It was created to keep the afterlife from turning into an eternal eden. And thus, while they dont state in the 6 minutes that its given that its the only possible reason, its seems like love is likely the most probable.
Yeah but the angel player needed to exist in order to help the SSS to move on, so maybe the world was created in such a way that it allowed for the creation of Angel Player before they even arrived in the world, just so it could facilitate their passing on

That’s a more literal way of saying it, I think. I do remember when the programmer said “Love existed in the world” everyone thought it was obvious he was referring to Otonashi… but then he points at Yuri! and, well, that was actually unexpected for me.
Oh, also possibly worthy of note that when asked about Angel Player, Maeda said that it was created long ago and that people were in that place long before, say, even Yuri ever showed up. Also we know that Kanade has had ‘friendships’ there before with people who were removed.
Perhaps it could be programmed to do this, but that’s already covered by, well, living daily life in the afterlife makes things happen already. The shadow program is specifically triggered when immense love is formed for the reason Yerian said. It’s described to target love, specifically.

I really enjoyed the Angel Beats! anime, and I expect the visual novel to be just as good as, if not better than, the anime.

Okay so to update, apparently this Otaku Summit 2015 thing is an anime convention in Japan… Targeted towards foreign anime fans. Organized by comiket organizers, too. So yeah, since Key is going global now, they’re slowly targeting foreign fans. Perhaps this would be a good time to make them aware of Kazamatsuri.org

With the (Air)conclusion of the Minagi route in Air, written by Maeda and Kai- I find it important for me to now note how much I’m wishing that Kai wrote the Masami route, as I find the basis of their routes comparable and absolutely adore the Minagi route.

So on the official Key Twitter, Sekine and Irie had a conversation again. This time there was a almost nude Kanade and a picture of all the character sprite’s faces. Someone! Explain!

I can understand that Yusa and Takamatsu could be popular by HD, but Irie? I think she is the character with less prominence in the series. I’m suprised that she is so popular.

She is less prominent in the series but the anime had a manga, 4 Koma, and Track Zero branch off of it. Irie had more exposure in the 4 Koma and Track Zero which brought a crowd of liking to her.
uhmmm yeah… I’m going to change my words. Irie is the less prominent female character in the franchise.
Hisako, Yusa and Shiina had a relevant part of Heaven’s Door and they have many appereances, or even Sekine, who was the protagonist of Track Zero. I remember Irie had a chapter in the 4-koma manga, when she mistakes Char for a bear and is all I remember about her.
No doubt that for some reason some people can like her but her role is less prominent that the other female characters and I am surprised that she has more fans that Yusa, Hisako and Shiina (according the poll).
You’re telling me, Shiina es numero uno!. But in all reality, Irie has the stupid and cute vibe with her personality that Yusa, Hisako, and Shiina don’t necessarily have at her level. And as we know with Japan… Cute things rule over everything.
