I believe they’re speaking on actual statistics like strength and stuff. Instead of a full fledged battle system it’s just choices and text that reach either a good or bad conclusion. Whether it’ll still contain a party selection system, idk. The option to help a member like TK in the collapsing ceiling makes me think that acting in preference of a member is still a thing…? Just, it’s more similar to other VNs. Otonashi’s personality should still be altered in this regard. It’s a complicated way of describing what’s already kind of common. I mean, of course a character will act and represent the choices they make, just it’s more integral to the overall dialogue here because it changes other common events.
Results are in from the Key twitter, with the top ten being listed.

3rd: Yuri, 8,172 votes
2nd: Tenshi, 10,767 votes
1st: Matsushita, 19,116 votes
I can’t believe it… The Key fandom has completely… defied my expectations… orz
Lesson learned: Don’t underestimate the insanity of Key fans.
So they found out later that the Matsu votes were like, 90 percent fake.
Tenshi is actually first and 8th is Otonashi from what I’ve seen.
Oh, thank god for that. I knew something was fishy!
That would make a lot more sense than Naoi being there and Matsushita being first. Also does anyone know what the key official twitter just posted about? It’s a conversation between Sekine and Irie from what I can tell but that’s it. I’m curious because they spammed the crap out of my tweeter.
It’s reaaaally funny actually. The basic gist of it is that Sekine and Irie are presenting the winners in order… Then when they get to 7th, Irie is all disappointed in how she’s 7th place and that she was expecting to be at least 5th place. And everybody that Sekine announces from then on, Irie just broods over.
For example,
“Oh Yui got 5th. Well I guess that makes sense, she’s a heroine in 1st beat…”
“4th place! Sasuga Iwasawa-senpai. Despite having only appeared in 3 episodes in the anime, she’s surprisingly popular…”
Then she suddenly becomes happy after Matsushita gets booted out and that she is now 6th place, and stressed that she’s technically 5th within the SSS
And the last tweet was something like:
“Irie: This was the announcement for the first character poll for the preorder illustration bonus
Sekine: First? Does that mean there’s gonna be a 2nd?
Irie: But… I haven’t won 1st place yet…
Sekine: Miyukichi…”
As @Bizkitdoh puts it, Irie is indeed Little Miss Thing
Does it say like which outfit they were most voted in? I know its going to be naked 99% of the time but, gotta make sure its not like the matsushita with the faking thing.
Where did you see Otonashi is 8th?
They said Naoi is 8th. Did they change the results?
https://twitter.com/key_official/status/570538240400207873 This tweet is what I think says it and the first line specifically does say “Ottonashisaaaaaan” (sic). But then I just noticed now that she is mentioning Naoi in the second line.
I think she might be saying that the votes were all placed by naoi It uses “で” which literally means “by means of” as the beginning of the second line, so it can be literally read as “2841 votes by means of the famous vice president Naoi”
But I could be misunderstanding things as, again, I have very novice level Japanese skills ^^;
Oh Oh You are right. I read the translation directly and ignored the original text. Now that I read again, it says “ぅおっとなしさーーん”.
I too want to know this, but I think they said it was naked. More naked than the other bonuses, if I read correctly. o.o;
Yeah, naked. Or as sekine puts it, neikiddo
I just thought of something horrific!
Every time a route ends in this thing, the character either is still there on reset to common, or is obliterated. IF the character is obliterated, they are gone in the next go through and if they are still there you can’t do that route again.
Check it: When you complete a route and a character and Otonashi get all romance-y, and perhaps this could be some retconning OR just a better detailing of this dynamic that we don’t fully understand, love happens and the shadow program begins that wipes everyone out and restarts the world in a way that that doesn’t happen again. If a character is obliterated in this process, however, the program still activates- but doesn’t catch the character that is no longer in the world so they are then gone and forgotten in the next go through.
Just a basis of some theorizing on this games format.
The weak joints are non-romantic routes, of course, and what else would trigger the program.
holy…mother…of…
That just makes so much sense in the scariest way possible. It’s like… it gives a reason to the Visual Novel format as a whole (which is a trend we’ve been seeing ever since CLANNAD). It is also supported by Drama CD 3, that goddamn asshole.
The whole obliteration (or not) and route locking and characters disappearing and all that stuff is just so exciting for me. It all just seems so surreal, like it couldn’t actually be this amazing.
I like your theory, but we know so little about the shadow program and Angel Player and the creator of all this in the first place that its hard to tell whats actually viable.

The weak joints are non-romantic routes
[/quote]I don’t think so. After all, in the anime its caused by Yuri’s non-romantic love for the SSS.
Touche
I really want that to be a thing. It would be just so much fun. If it turns out that it actually plays through that way, then what of character interactions? That would be an amazing dynamic. Especially if somebody calls out for a character that doesn’t exist. “Who are you talking about?” “Huh… Oh, why did I say that?” (Similar to (Clannad) Sunohara mentioning Fuuko.)
You’re in luck. Straight from Dengeki G
Actually, now that you mention it, it goes well with another theory that you made:
Maybe it’s not that they are sent back to the life they lead before dying, but they are reincarnated in their previous bodies. It would be natural that they wouldn’t appear in the next playthrough, since they will no longer have a regret, but when the others are reincarnated and die, they will still have that regret. That actually makes me think that that world was created for the sole sake of the SSS….
Of course, Kanade and Otonashi still remain an issue in that theory
But it wasn’t. The creator of the Angel Player was there before them, and he was just a normal human like the rest of them, not the creator of the world. And Kanade seemed to have been there for at least a little while before Yuri helping people before. She had to have either met the creator or have somehow found the Angel Player on her own. AND the Another Episode showed the possibility of Otonashi staying after the SSS was gone to continue helping.
