I’m a really big fan of Angel Beats; I watched both seasons of the anime, read all 5 VNs, and even read all 8 volumes of Heaven’s Door.

I haven’t seen the VN, but based on spoilers, Kappei route sounds like this typical cliche cancer story, so it was fine that the anime didn’t include it.
(Forgot to mention that I saw this in one blog post)

But all those VNs are so bland, you don’t even feel any emotions from characters, they are just bad.
