League of Legends General Topic

I can’t imagine anyone would use it anymore. The only real reason people did in the past was because it had timers. Once they had to take the timers down people mostly stopped using it.

That said, I don’t think there’s a drawback to at least trying it, but don’t expect to find many others using it in your games.

Was this before they added the timers to the stats screen? I don’t know how old Voice has been out.

Oh no, not for random people. For talking with friends. Skype is pretty rubbish after all.

Yeah, it was before timers were actually in game.

If it’s just for talking to friends, well, no reason not to give it a shot. Couldn’t tell you how good it is, though.

Yo funny thing is TODAY I used it because some of other friends were using it, and apparently its pretty goood. Its something like teamspeak, you can mute the ones you dont like to hear and adjust volumes of EACH player you are playing with INGAME - yes the curse voice has In game LoL HUD which you can interact with.

I personally like it because it seems like a good thing for premade teams, and also its lighter so the ones who has shitty pc will run it instead of skype for example.

Yes I had the old Curse Voice BETA, I even have some old Beta keys in my pc. It was a beta and not everyone could have it.
It had timers of baron and dragon + it made you search ppl in soloq and add you to the same call - that means you were able to talk with people you dont know because curse voice would do that for you. But I think they removed that too.

I think I have an old video of me playing while using curse voice with the old timers. One of the thing was, that if you were caugh you could be banned. And so Riot removed those things permanently.

Personally I think its cool, and I like it. I sometimes use it but still prefer skype because im a casual hue.
@LinkThinks sorry :stuck_out_tongue: you were wrong, a lot of people uses it nowadays… suprisingly

yes, its actually the reason that league added timers in game. Curse timers were much better though, giving you timer on a dragon or buff just by scouting it when it wasnt there, unlike now when you have to see it being taken to get the timer. for about a month or two when it came out Riot didn’t know what to do about it, and they had to basically call in the legal team and form a stance on the timers. ultimately, they decided that any 3rd party program granting information that was not available directly from the game was giving players that used it an advantage and was not something they would allow, so they made curse take out it’s timers. about 2 weeks after that they came out with their own timers on PBE, and that’s what you see in game now.

as far as the quality of CV, the voice is nice though not really anything better than skype(or similar programs) if you’re playing with friends. if you want to communicate with randoms, its fairly nice; though you’ll have to know that not very many people use it anymore (even during its prime I only met 6 or 7 randoms that were using it) and generally randoms are not the most fun people to be talking with. if you’re looking to meet new friends though, it might be worthwhile though; but if you’re just looking to get more coherent communication with teammates its basically worthless at this point.

clap clap And I tought I was the only one who knew about that  as expected of you.
Welp yeah @takafumi Angel said it exactly as it was said on forum.

I did just say I didn’t think anyone used it. Still, I’m actually shocked people still have it. I remember tons of people stopped using it after timers were removed. Personally, I feel like League should just have voice built in, but that’s just me. The main counterpoint to adding voice would probably be that if people are using voice they aren’t typing in chat as much, so I can understand why people wouldn’t want it.

Also kinda surprised you thought you were the only one to know that. It wasn’t that long ago that it happened, just last season. The Curse Voice boom was a big deal, and since it lead directly into timers being added into the game I think a lot of people are prolly aware, hah.

A lot of cool 3rd party programs have been shut down by Riot. Astralfoxy developed a really nice, sleek launcher called Wintermint that also fixed a bunch of dumb old bugs left in the old launcher. The project was quickly taken down, though, which is a massive shame. Worth noting, however, that Astralfoxy got hired by Riot because of his work on Wintermint, so at least that’s something.

Yeah, the HUD interaction is what has me interested - and it being less of a resource hog than Skype is. Being able to mute yourself or others on-screen, and quickly set up a group with everyone you’re playing with are all big positives.

I used to use a couple custom clients throughout 2012-2014 and they were both made bannable because they offered bonus information and utilities. LoL even stopped websites like LoLKing from collecting specific types of data that wasn’t already provided in-client.

She hasn’t been given much to do though from what I remember. They got the CrossPvP people to work on the new client that’s being teased.

So I played several games as bot lane Ezreal today and it kinda surprised me how little damage he does. I mean, I can’t even destroy minion waves with his ult o.O
While I did win most games, I never ‘carried’ my team (it was pretty much the other way around xD)
I tried out all kinds of builds, and I wasn’t really happy with any of them. I guess I’ll go with blue ez in my future games…

Funny story about that. I consider ADC as one of my stronger roles, and I am more than comfortable ‘carrying’ as the majority of ADCs. Ezreal however has never made sense to me for some reason. I play him a lot because I think he’s fun, but I can never get the his late game to work well for me. Though I am 6-0 with him in ranked, so maybe I actually do play him fairly well and it just doesn’t feel like I’m playing him right, idk.

What build do you use? I did say I’ll go with blue ez, but that actually means ‘I don’t know what to buy aside from Iceborn Gauntlet’ xD

From what I’ve seen of high level Ezreal plays, he’s definitely less of a rapid-fire consistant damage output than most adcs. You really want a nice tanky all-in team with a support that can stun/root or peel well. Ez doesn’t have amazing single-hit damage, but if you are positioned well you can shoot a flurry of skillshots at the enemy team and burst down any threats that way. Cooldowns aren’t a problem for this guy.

He’s a mobile adc that relies less on auto-attacking and more on sniping targets who aren’t expecting it. He falls off late-game, but he has strong lane pressure mid-game, so take advantage of that. Tristana used her jump in lane? Get her while she is vulnerable. Sivir trying to position for a Q? Get her while she is attacking. Blitz running at you? Combo and e away

That’s what I’d guess anyway~ Never played him much. He feels too clunky for me ><

Just the normal ADC build for the most part. Though I often get CDR boots instead of AS boots because he really doesn’t need more attack speed with his passive. Occasionally I’ll build essence reaver if I’m being forced to use too many spells, but he usually starts trinity force.

As a side note, blue Ez is only good for kiting; his damage output and turret killing potential(the two things you NEED on an ADC) fall quite a bit with that build, so most players don’t use it anymore.

Dunno about Ez. He feels kinda weak right now. If you want something fun and strong, then Kalista is the right choice in my opinion.

There’s actually a hidden champion in the game named Galio in the game, and he’s pretty fun with Kalista. Throw in a Yasuo and you have a funny engage~

Idk why a lot of people think Ez is weak. He’s actually really strong, he just doesn’t fit well into the current meta.

[/quote]this combo sounds pretty fun, but I can’t see it being much more than a wombo combo setup. And if that’s the case, why not just use malphite or amumu. They effectively do the same thing with their ult, but have a slightly better kit at the moment.

I have heard of a few LCS pro players practicing Nautilus support with Kalista though. I haven’t personally tried it yet, but Naut is one of my mains, and I find this idea absolutely hilarious.

No one ever uses Galio. People play as Malphite and mumu. Gimmicks are fun =w= Galio’s is generally more powerful too iirc.

Ya know whats good with kalista?

Also about that Ezreal discussion here, Ezreal imo is really good in diamond because he has a good damage potential in early and an escape spell that counts as flash + it does a bit of damage if you build some AP.
The onle bad thing I really do find is that if there is a team with heavy CC against him, he may struggle a lot.
That aside Ezreal does a lot of damage, and @Takafumi can confirm that since he saw me playing him. Blue build is actually really stong vs immobile champions, and as above said for kiting. There are various of builds, and one time Ezreal was said to be the only champion that can has the “rainbow” build. (Everything blue, red, green etc.)
The main problem is that people cant position themself properly when they go the “normal” build as an adc for example IE, Statik aaaaand LW for example. Crits doesnt apply for his Q which is sad, but his passive is really good when you are good with AAing and sidesteping.

Kalista is not bad, but she struggles vs assasins like LB or Zed, killed her immediately once she got in range ;d.
The STRONGEST adc NOW is prolly Graves. I am starting to hate him beacause I can see him EVERY game…and this burst damage is just ridiculous. Nerf inc I tell you.
If youre graves in 25 min and have a kill or two you can just burst almost everyone - OH an enemy adc alone, E Q R boom dead. You can just literally smash your head into the keyboard and kill everyone XD.

The Kalista Annie combo was pretty nice too. Insta-aoe stuns.

Dash, burst, dead. Ugh…
