Incoming June 2nd. Birthday of the almighty Sawashiro Miyuki.

You may know her as best girl Iwasawa Masami’s JP VA from a little anime called Angel Beats.

Other anime and game roles that come to my mind are Shinku from Rozen Maiden. Toto Sakagami from Deadman Wonderland. Canaan from, well, CANAAN. Elizabeth and Chidori from Persona 3. Kanbaru from the Monogatari series. Saeko from Highschool of the Dead. Carl Clover from BlazBlue. Bishamon from Noragami… Aaaand countless other roles if you wish to look her up.

Looking forward to her work in the AB VN. ;D

Sakigami* I don’t know why so many people think it’s Sakagami…
Oh, DMWL is my second favorite Manga btw >.> I’m not just being overprotective of the Sakagami name.

Sawashiro is one of the few VAs I actually recognize~ Voice of one of my favorite characters Himeko Inaba~

Anyway, I hope everyone is ready for the June birthday rush. There is at least one birthday every day between the 8th and the 13th, then more dotted throughout the month.

It’s just hit the date on my calender which reminded me that it’s getting closer to being over in Japan. June 8th, Ai Nonaka’s birthday. She started in Key on Fuko Ibuki, and also played the part of Sakiko of the Sasami trio. Her largest role is Konoka Konoe from the Negima series. She also has Kyouko Sakura of Madoka and Beauty of Bobobobo whatever the name of that show is.

Tanjoubi Omedeto! Hope her birthday was as fun as she seems like she is. Ahaha~

It’s the start of Key Birthday Hell… Well, the summer version anyway.
There’s like a week of birthdays! However we’re starting with something a little different.

June 9th!

It’s the anniversary of an unfortunate passing. They day Cancer took away one of the best voice actors out there - Tomoko Kawakami. She did the voice of Sayuri, Misuzu, and the Mysterious Girl from Clannad.
She is also voiced everyone’s favorite Revolutionary Girl - Utena, Suì-Fēng from Bleach, Hikaru Shindou from Hikaru no Go, and Nanaly Fletch from the Tales franchise.

June 10th!

Nobutoshi Kanna! (or Canna.) This Kanna, funnily enough, is the voice of Ryuuya. He is also the voice of Masato Inohara.
Aside from Key stuff, he did the voice acting for Makoto Seiga (the big bad from the Guilty Crown series,) Takaya Sakaki from Persona 3, Kabuto from Naruto, and Lancer from Fate/Stay Night.

Ahaha~ We ignored all three birthday girls in here (but celebrated them in the Skype chat), June 12th for Kano (Air), and Kud (Little Busters), and June 18th for my favorite little Key loli, Shizuru.

We skipped over the 19th and 26th which were birthdays for Takeshi Aono (who did Komamura-sensei) and Yuko Minaguchi (who did Akiko Minase and Kouko Ibuki) respectively.

And here we are one month later.

Oops, was gonna wait do this the next day, since it was then. July 12 we had the birthday of a voice actress who has done two things… one random character of something else and one Key heroine.

“filthy filthy filthy pervert pervert pervert enemy of women Tennouji Kotarouuuuuuuuuuuuuu.” Risa Asaki, the voice actress that voiced the only Key heroine to actually cause pain to the protag… in common routes… I think. Don’t bother correcting me if wrong.

Seems I might be the only one keeping the posts in this one. Well, as we know, July 20th, Happy Birthday to two Clannad characters, Akio and Fuko.

I purposely left it and waited till midnight my time since not only is it two Key Birthdays, but 1 Kazamatsuri one. Happy Birthday to my good friend, username: AngelofDeath720.

Ah, never did say happy birthday to Kotori on the 26th, but time to move on from that anyway.

But I’m writing a message now to say happy birthday to a Key voice actress, Ryouko Tanaka, July 28th.

For Key I’ve made this joke once, we’ve heard her screw with everyone, screw with you and a few others, and get screwed by you. What do I mean? Kurugaya, Nishikujo-sensei, and Tomoyo (only in her After Story, the game that is). Other than that, she’s been Tsubomi of Shuffle and Yumiko Sakaki of Grisaia.

Ryouko-san is probably the voice actor I am torn over most on whether I like their work or not.

She voices my favorite characters from Little Busters, School Days, Tomoyo After, and Grisaia (I’ll probably like her role in Coμ as well) and she voiced my second favorite character from Shuffle, but I hate the characters she played in Yosuga no Sora, Kodomo no Jikan, Yume Miru Kusuri, and H2O. Not just “eh, they are bad characters,” but “Ugh, why do they even exist?” They are down there with Nemu Asakura on my hated list… Okay, not that far down. No one gets to Nemu levels… but you know, they are on the list anyway.

And yes, I use character preference as a judge of Voice Acting talent. I’m a terrible person.

I don’t blame you there. There are moments that which it tends to happen, most of the time it’s a voice actors characters that can make or break a character because of who you associate them with. EX: I have been holding out on Mahouka for a little while because he voices a lead of Fairy Tail. Mahou mahou mahou mahou mahou mahou KILL ME NOW. Associations can help or ruin opinions on characters, so the characters they voice do matter.

Definitely. A great example is Yuuki Kaji. He’s done so many roles in the past few years that people either really like, or really hate, and most of the time it’s down to a character’s personality. He’s there with all the love-or-hate anime. Shu Ouma, Eren Jaeger, Haruyuki Arita, Issei Hyōdō. I love his work as Shu and Yukine, but a lot of people think he just sounds whiny in those roles (when that is the character’s personality.) I think he is just annoying as Eren or Haruyuki… but that’s the personality of the characters really.

The end of July is right around the corner, and on this day, the 30th of said month, a special member of Key Studios holds his birthday. Happy birthday to a large name of Key, Shinji Orito. He’s composed a lot of my favorite songs, including my original favorite character theme (That’s Like the Wind).
