Introduce Yourself!

Welcome! Glad all our info has been of use to you!

Its amazing that even after decidedly hating it you could still become such a huge Key enthusiast

Welcome @Japesland!

Also @hirato welcome too! Now that you were speaking of hating sometingā€¦ I hated stuff like clannad I was younger, but something inside me told me to watch it. And then I fell in love with it and that hatred was broken forever. Darn man I almost forgot about that.

Thank you for the warm welcome. @Pepe @yerian98 @IkaCZ
I hope I can stay active in this forum. And, yeahā€¦ Actually itā€™s kind of weird how I came to get interested in CLANNAD, because after AIR I vowed not to touch anything made by Key anymore. Iā€™m glad I wasnā€™t such a stubborn fool. After all, Keyā€™s works deeply affected my life.

I donā€™t know about Indonesian, but in SEA I think the biggest Key fans community is in Vietnam. Hopefully they can come and join us here as well.

Well, thereā€™s @minatahatsune for the Vietnam front

Also, welcome! AIR was my first anime, too. Thing is, Clannad anime didnā€™t existed back then, so my love for it (and Key in general) was on a second watch

Your songs sound so awesome! I almost burst into tears of joy when I listened to the Rewrite songs, specially Anthurium. I also play the saxophone (I sound like a noob compared to you, though), so Iā€™ll have a lot of fun covering those songs next year.

Welcome to the forums!

Hey guys, Iā€™m a new guy here, though Iā€™ve been in the FB page for a while.

Getting started, let me just say that Key was the one who both got me into anime a few years back and yet still their animes are regarded as the best I have ever seen. I have played all their VNs (except for LB EX and Rewrite HF because theyā€™re untranslated :c) and have seen all their animes. Out of all of them, Clannad was the first anime I have ever seen, and thus holds a special place in my heart. Other than that my favorite Key work is tied between Little Busters and Rewrite: Little Busters has by far the most emotional impact to me and has actually affected/influenced my life in ways, whereas Rewrite might not be as emotional, but is probably my favorite to read due to the amazing story that took me on a wild ride of feels and is just plain epic of a story (praying to the Key gods that Rewrite will be the Aniplex announcement on Dec 22, whoā€™s with me??). Iā€™ve pretty much joined every single group on FB thatā€™s related to any Key work, but it was always sorta depressing watching them dwindle and sometimes even die out, so here I am in a (hopefully) permanent home. Hope to talk to you guys- if anybody here knows the struggle of holding a full school schedule of nothing but AP classes while always trying to watch Kanon 2006 or read the latest VN at 4 in the morning, then just know that I feel your pain and that you can pm me at any time during your masochistic all-nighter full of schoolwork ;_;

Order of Key works Iā€™ve seen is Clannad --> Air --> Kanon (2006 then 2002) --> Planetarian --> Angel Beats --> Rewrite --> Little Busters!

So many new members! Welcome @Japesland, @Hirato @SirLemuel5 ! I really hope youā€™ll enjoy your stay and come to think of this place as a home!

Donā€™t forget to check out the FAQ, check out some of the discussions, and donā€™t be afraid to bump dead topics! We have a growing collection of discussion topics for each route and character from each of Keyā€™s stories, so I hope youā€™ll find plenty to chat about!

We also have a Skype chat you can join to chat with the members in a less formal, off-topic setting. I donā€™t advertise it too much to avoid it from getting overcrowded, but youā€™re more than welcome to join in!

Well, I decided to make an account here. Iā€™m actually good friends with @Japesland as we write for the same blog together. In fact, I was the one who linked him the Planetarian post

  1. I live in Tokyo, Japan. Iā€™m only here for school, and by school I mean Iā€™m only using school as an excuse to be in Japan.
  2. I believe my Key anime viewing order went Kanon (2002) -> Air -> Kanon (2006) -> Clannad/AS -> Little Busters. Clannad would be my favorite. Planetarian was my very first visual novel. Little Busters was my 2nd. I finished reading Rewrite the same day the full English patch was released (thank you partial patch). The other (major) VNs are somewhere on my ever growing backlog. Rewrite is easily my favorite Key VN, but of all VNs, it switches between Rewrite and Mahoyo.
  3. I originally found this site via @Aspiretyā€™s blog when I was looking up specific details on Rewrite (didnā€™t bring the game with me to Japan, which I regret). Didnā€™t really look around again until Japes got mentioned on here.
  4. Well, interests outside of Key, uhh everything else related to the otaku industry? I mean, I did move to Japan because of anime. HUGE Nana Mizuki fan. Aside from my blogging with Japes, I have a separate blog which is mostly dedicated to her (it was supposed to be a more personal and general blog but sheā€™s all I ever seem to feel like writing about soooo). My current field of studies is on cellular engineering, which is going about as well as trying to get through a Jun Maeda story without crying. I donā€™t have much free time lately, but most of it goes into anime, writing blog posts, and reading non translated VNs at a snail pace for learning purposes.

Welcome @SirLemuel5 and @Kaze!

Oh hey, somebody else studying in Japan! What school do you go to, if you donā€™t mind me asking? Iā€™m at Keio University

Oh cool! Keio was one of the schools I considered when I was looking into possibilities. I ended up at Tokyo University though

Maaaan youā€™re good. I took a look at the entrance exams for graduate studies and didnā€™t even bother.

But hey maybe weā€™ll see each other some time. Considering youā€™re a Nana Mizuki fan, I guess you would probably go to Animelo Summer Live or something like that? (if you can get a ticket that is hahaha)

haha well I sneaked around entrance exams by applying through a program designed for international students. Even then I didnā€™t expect to get in, honestly.

I do go to her regular concerts but Animelo tickets are like 9k yen per day and I donā€™t really care about half the other singers so not even worth trying to get a ticket. How long are you going to be here for? Iā€™ll sadly be done and gone come next Oct.

Hmm yeah I guess it isnā€™t worth it if youā€™re only after one artist. Iā€™ll be here until some time in 2016 so thereā€™s a lot of time left I guess!

Welcome @Sirlemuel5 and @Kaze !
Its always nice to see all the new people. It feels like we are spreading all over the world as a big family (dango daikazoku pls?).

Welcome @SirLemuel5 and @Kaze!

Same here~

->No Angel Beats? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

*nod nod *

Oops, I have seen Angel Beats, but my brain tends to only connect it to Maeda.

Lol and my brain has always connected it to Key because I didnā€™t know while I was watching it that it was originally a Maeda+Naga-only project

Well, lurkingā€™s over, time to get started. Just wanna say hi to everyone. Namesā€™ Hunter, I added the I21j for the heck of it ( was suppose to be (21) but only letter & numbers meant i had to improvise)

Here are my obligatory answers:

  • I live the big apple. mmmh ringo
  • Iā€™m currently reading Little Busters!, moving on to Planetarian in a bit and kickstarting Clannad with a few friends. I donā€™t really want to play each VN until I properly obtain the physical copy if itā€™s available. So itā€™s gonna take a while. I found out about key through the Air anime, I am still haunted by the end feeling of helplessness and probably wonā€™t read the original one for a while. So far I have no favorite since I like to reserve judgement until the end.
  • found this place through the 60 min Key fan art bot. Iā€™m surprised thereā€™s a place where discussions donā€™t devolve into waifu fights every 20 secs Itā€™s nice having a place where I can have meaningful discussions about such wonderful and insightful stories
  • My main activity outside of VN is being a student studying civil engineering. In my spare time I practice mixed style armed combat (yes, I mix kenjitsu in there too) and visit Underground Cardboard Crack Dojos
  • So far I have yet to cry from any of Key works yet although how long that lasts is another question.

C-can I ask a question? Have you seen the Little Busters anime? :crossing_fingers:

Yes, Iā€™ve seen the anime. I feel like they could of made a second season out of the common route with the stuff they cut. Another issue I have with it is the invisible barrier the staff erected between each character so the whole group feels a little artificial. However, Iā€™ll save the details of that for the Little Busters thread. Btw is there any rules against rants for new comers?
