Currently Airing Anime

Same. It’s a SoL so I wasn’t expecting anything, but I actually will miss it when it ends. Characters are great, and the premise between Chihiro and the main family that was shown (especially in the most recent episode) was interesting.

Found it funny that the girl who has Orange hair is an Ohtori and is rich. I know this is a manga adaption and that it was in the manga beforehand (I think. Not too sure since I read a few chapters and those are really short chapters. Takes only 2 minutes to read, so the anime added lots of things in, that wasn’t in the manga), but that Chihaya-foreshadowing from 8-Bit was gold

I really found too funny that they had an Ohtori-chan with orange hair and being rich, and she had some good interaction with a butler too~

But those were clearly just coincidences after all, though it doesn’t make it any less fun.
I don’t remember last time I enjoyed so much a Slice of Life, the character did have certain charm and animation-wise it did fit very well the style of the anime, I hope that once we see Rewrite they manage to adapt well the animation to the style of Rewrite (because the PV we got so far, didn’t show that much… aside of being rushed)

I just started Re:Zero recently, and I’m loving it. I have to say, I’m a little disappointed at MC’s reckless personality in the most recent episode. Also not shipping the main pair right now, after seeing the arc before.

Mayoiga - Uh to the Uh to the No No No…

Shounen Maid - Actually loved the show. Characters, premise, and the drama between the family. Very enjoyable SoL for me. Waiting for the final episode to come out next week. Hopefully I don’t cry a river.

Netoge No Yome - Was very enjoyable. I think I enjoyed the characters more than the story itself. The characters altogether was a very enjoyable ride.

Flying Witch - It’s one of those SoL shows with no plot basically. Can’t lie though, the characters in each episode were delightful. It’s a funny show, and doesn’t have much plot, but is great.

I think that’s all I watched for Spring 2016

For Summer 2016, I’ll definitely be watching

 • Rewrite (Obviously)
 • Orange (Read the manga and loved it. Plus, they’re using the Movie’s song “Mirai” for the ED, which is beautiful).
 • Shokugeki No Souma Season 2 (Loved the first season, but I heard some of the manga fans saying Season 2 might not be good if they animate certain arcs).
 • ReLIFE (Seems like a hyped up show. But I heard the 13 episodes will be available on Day 1 ?!)
 • Tales of Zestiria (Ufotable. Can’t lie that I’m only watching it for action instead of story)
 • 91 Days (Seems interesting enough)
 • Kimi No Na Wa (Interesting plot)
 • Kizumonogatari I: Tekketsu-hen (Sounds hyped)
 • Planetarian (Obviously)
 • A Silent Voice (But subs ain’t comi out for a while)

Maybe I might watch

 • Qualidea Code (A-1, interesting-ish plot)
 • D.Gray-man Hallow (Seems okay)
 • Berserk (2016) (Blegh. CGI)
 • Servamp (I miss watching comedy vampire shows)
 • Hitori No Shita (Seems interesting enough)
 • Amaama to Inazuma (I need my comedy)
 • Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru! (I need my K-On! Season 3)
 • Hatsukoi Monster (That sypnosis gives me life)
 • New Game! (Seems okay)
 • Momokuri (I miss watching romance shows)
 • Regalia (I don’t really like Mecha, but it seems promising)
 • Ozmafia!! (Seems okay)
 • B-Project (I’m curious about idol groups with this premise)
 • Onara Gorou (The picture. THE PICTURE)

@Totoro_Futaki

Momokuri (I miss watching romance shows)

Oh, I watched some episodes of the ONA version of that (only the first ones are free to watch…), and the plot is kinda fun, it’s a romance comedy, for short episodes it worked well and the manga is not bad, though I’m not sure of how will it work on a full-lenght anime.

But I must say that the characters are enjoyable, or at least I found them fun…
The main girl is a super-stalker (but without yandere traits, thankfully)

Don’t listen to them. I’m considerably far from the end of the anime (on the latest arc), and so far it has been great as usual. They did the right choice moving the story forward by breaking the ‘formula’. By doing that, the manga has avoided repetition and staleness and allowed its characters to grow more.

I thought it was weaker but still pretty good. My main worry is where they’ll end it. I can think for 13 episodes (which it appears to be) but if we do get 2 cour I have no idea.

True. First episode of Re:Zero was a WTF moment for me when the ending hit. Probably to every anime-only who saw it actually.

This is one of those shows that I really, REALLY enjoy… and yet I can’t quite place my finger on why I like it so much

Aside from that, there are several shows you have as “seems interesting enough” that I’ll give a few episodes a go for pretty well the same reason. Anything I pick up usually has 3 episodes to make or break me finishing the show.

Did anyone here play Tales of Zestiria?

Because I did and I can’t make sense of that anime episode 0. What the heck is Ufotable doing?

I did, I did! I have it at Steam and finished it!

Well… it was a prequel with Alisha, and… I was extremely confused too, to be honest.
It seems that it is a mission that she failed sometime before the game’s events? Or more like the anime’s events, because I don’t remember her knowing Lunarre from before at the game, I mean she didn’t know there was a crazy fox-guy trying to kill her, right?

Did the game mention that she failed some mission sometime before the game’s start? I remember something like that, so it may be this one, but I don’t remember it was a mission that they never get into, or if they just talked about her exploring the forest where she found Sorey’s village.

I’m also surprised of them showing Symonne so early, or even a dragon, even hellions feels spoilery so early

And I also a little bit confused…I found this picture…is she going to be zestiria character too…??

I know she’s a character from berseria…Velvet…

I heard berseria and zestiria still have connection…but it’s 10000++ gap years or somethin…it’s make me confused…is it gonna be a time travel story?

She appears on the opening sequence too, that picture comes from it.

Yeah, she’s Velvet, Berseria’s main character, and Berseria is Zestiria’s prequel by a very long time gap, but some beings can live from that long at their universe, and we don’t know what will be Velvet’s condition or age at the end of her own game, so she could have survived that long somehow.

The Earthen Historia also lets people see past events at Tales of Zestiria, so they may use it too

Also, so far, no one knows how much is the anime going to deviate from the game’s story, it may be slightly, it may be something completely different.

Yes, a lot of weird stuff happened in that episode of Zestiria and I don’t get it.
First of all, normal humans can’t perceive Hellions, right? So why did Alisha get scared of Lunarre? She shouldn’t have seen his transformation at all (and that’s a weird moment to become a hellion)

What the heck was symonne doing? She was clearly attacking Alisha - and her companion probably died along with the horse. But Symonne made an oath not to kill anyone! She only tried to break it once, at the end of the game (and failed).

Where the heck did that dragon come from? Who buried him there? There was no dragon around except for Edna’s brother until that war started. But Eizen was confined to the rayfalke spiritcrest due to the oath Edna made! And the other dragon was created right there during the war.

Why the heck did it look like Lunarre was on equal ground with Symonne? Dude’s weak as hell! He’ll get his ass handed to him next episode by Sorey and Mikleo (I think).

Lastly, why are they showing Zaveid in the opening? And right next to Edna?? We’re not supposed to know he’s important!
I have a baaad feeling about all the liberties Ufotable is taking -_-

As for Lunarre and Alisha, it does make sense. When Alisha was found by Sorey and Mikleo, Lunarre was on her trail and he caught up eventually. She was his original target. Though I’m not sure she knew he was still after her. I also vaguely remember something about a failed mission, at least Alisha did have a reason to be there when she was found.

Well, under rare circumstances, some humans have been able to perceive Hellions somehow, especially when their lives were threathened, is possible that she was able to seen that only for that short moment of time because what happened, but when she meets Sorey, it doesn’t seem like she ever saw something similar before, so… even if you try to explain it, it doesn’t make enough sense, it isn’t something anyone would forget.

Well, about her oath… that’s what the party of main characters theorized, but we never heard her oath directly from her or anyone close to her, so we actually don’t know if it was really was her oath was about, also, even if the oath was to not kill, maybe it can bypassed by certain things (like not being the one killing directly)…

Well, we didn’t know of any other dragons, but it isn’t mentioned anywhere that there are no other dragons, only that we didn’t see any around, and people who said to see one… was only right about the one at Rayfalke (Eizen), about why he was buried… no idea, a comfy place to sleep for him? maybe it was an Earth Seraph?

Well, he’s not too weak, and Symonne wouldn’t be particularly powerful without her illusionisms powers, but I agree that Symonne is able to kick his butt with ease, isn’t that what got Lunarre to work under her at the game?

Zaveid’s introduction in the game and unique design, together with his stranges goals and gun, shows that’s important, only not in which way or how much… and I feel sorry for Edna getting barely any attention at all in the whole opening, though her being my favorite may have something to do… girls with a parasol are just too strong against me, ask Mio Nishizono too

I hope this… helps? Theorize or try to untangle this mess, because I was highly confused too.

This season I am watching:
Rewrite
Planetarian ~Chiisana Hoshi no Yume~
New Game!
Love Live! Sunshine
Kono Bijitsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru!
Amaama to Inazuma
Orange
Hatsukoi Monster - Don’t watch this because it’s suuuper bad. I’m going to continue watching with a friend because it’s fun to laugh about how terrible it is.
Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars (dropped by episode 2) - Mecha really isn’t my thing. I thought lolis would make it better but I really don’t like Mecha.
Handa-kun (dropped by episode 1) - Barakamon is one of my favorites. Just go watch that. Don’t touch this. It’s like Sakamoto from last season but I’m pretty sure it’s not as good. I didn’t really enjoy Sakamoto but if you did, this might be for you but since it doesn’t have Hikaru Midorikawa idk if there’s much going for it.

I am watching:
Orange
Sweetness & Lightning
91 Days
Maybe Ange Vierge for how trashy and bad it is
Also continuing JoJo, Ace Attorney and Re:Zero from last season

I guess other than watching, Planetarian ~Chiisana Hoshi no Yume~ and Rewrite, I’ve also been watching Re:Zero and each episode always get me in the edge of my seat and I love this series very much.

I actually started watching Re:Zero because @Inuconandoyle mentioned this was one of the most best fantasy anime so far and I’ve asked that I’ve been looking for one that was quite different from the others I’ve come across in the past. I had to binge watch the series in order to get caught up to the latest episode and usually I don’t really use that method because I like to process the dialogue after each episode and sometimes I may have to re-watch in case I had missed something.

EDIT (7/24/16): I also decided to watch Amaama to Inazuma because I heard how adorable and sweet this series was and the story is really good too, so I hope I’ll enjoy and entertain myself.

I wanted to save most of the more drama or heavy plot focused shows until the end of the season since I am not a big fan of watching those types of shows weekly. So right now I am only watching the Sol /comedy focused stuff or things that i don’t take seriously enough to care about their plot. With that being said here is what I am watching right now:

Re:zero 2nd cour - Honestly not the biggest fan of this show with the only parts I even enjoyed were the 2 part first episode and the whole character arc episode or two of rem. I am still watching it becuase i am interested in what the ending will be but I don’t have high expectations.

Shokugeki no souma: Ni no Sara - To be honest if I wasn’t as much of a fan of the show as I was already i most likely would have dropped it by now. It is rushed it’s comedy is to shock value to be memorable more then that one time I laughed at it and it hasn’t yet enthralled me with its competition aspect. However the core of what makes Shokugeki Shokugeki is still there it has some likeable characters some wonderful food porn ( and borderline porn porn but that is beside the point ) and high energy. So I am hopeful that it will get better.

Taboo Tattoo - this is what I was referring to when I said “things that i don’t take seriously enough to care about their plot”. I found it comically stupid in its plot set-up and character introduction but has been otherwise pretty generic. Although the fact that the Lt. is an american named Bluesy Fluesy is absolutely hilarious to me.

Mob psycho 100 - I’m having a pretty good time with this one a great comedic relief character in Mobs mentor. Great comedic timing and although it uses One’s original less the stellar art style it is still fantastic looking in terms of its animation. Props to bones for their creation of this thus far.

Fukigen na Mononokean - I was actually surprised by this one, not because it was great or anything but because of how charming I found it. With it’s more heartwarming monster of the week type deal it has my attention at least for now not sure if it will for the whole season though.

Amanchu! - Tied for my favourite of the season thus far with the next show. Amanchu! has just blown me away with how great its atmosphere and characters are. The “chibi” face that Kohinata makes in particular always gets me to grin a big grin on my face. I mean how could you not be charmed by this

Amaama to Inazuma - I have always been a fan of parent stories and one of my favourite shows is the Usagi drop anime. So it isn’t hard to see why i would be hyped for this show in fact it was the only one I had any expectations for and while I can;t say it is better the usagi drop what I can say is that I am thoroughly enjoying it and am excited every time I see a new episode has come out. My only concern is that it is going to create some kind of romance between Kouhei and Kotori which i feel would put a big damper on the experience.

ReLife - Since the whole thing was released netflix style I was able to both experience new anime and binge watch a show which is always fun for me. i won’t get into to much detail since this post is long enough but I thought it was good, not great , not average, good. An is definitely best girl though

Pretty good season thus far not great but I am definitely excited to watch a bunch more shows once the season begins to come to a close.

Gyakuten Saiban - I’m still enjoying it.

Re:Zero - All I can say is… I started watching it too early. Waiting till it’s all out would’ve been the better choice.

Amaama to Inazuma - Watched the first episode and decided to put it on hold until the end of the season. I think I’ll appreciate it more that way.

Danganronpa 3: Future Arc - This one I’ll definitely be watching weekly as I’m VERY interested in seeing how they’ll conclude the plot.

Danganronpa 3: Despair Arc - My AOTS so far. There’s something simply amazing about watching the DR2 cast in a normal environment.

Here are the shows I’ve been watching this season.

 • 91 Days - is doing real fine~ Looking forward to how they’ll go in this kind of story
 • Love Live Sunshine!! - is okay. But why are they copy-pasting from the original story so much? Like there’s a better way to pay homage to Muse without having to see the same thing over again? Well at least the cast are more engaging than the previous ones. Sue me. I liked the latest episode.
 • Arslan Senki: Fuujin Ranbu - is doing even better than the last season. Weird enough, the story benefited from only having 8 episodes. Watching it reminds me always of why I’m endeared to the main cast so much. :stuck_out_tongue: (the latest episode have some godawful af animation though)
 • Orange - I sense feels incoming. Come at me bruh. Not like Naho or anyone in the cast is turning out to be my favorite, but I don’t get the hate they get. Not being assertive is pretty human. Not everyone is as naturally assertive as a standard passionate main character. For a lot of people, they have to muster up a lot of strength to say what they want.
 • Fukigen na Mononokean - It’s pretty fun, but I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I want to. Perhaps Shounen Maid was too fun for me that I ended up having really high standards for these kinds of stories. XD
