What kind of dub names might Key characters have?

This is just something I got from a certain Love Live picture circulating around the net:

Changing the names of anime characters nowadays usually only happen to kids’ shows, so as to make it easier for the target audience to remember (if you’re an English speaker, it’s certainly easier to remember “Bulbasaur” than “Fushigidane”). But what if Key anime adaptations or the VN itself had the names of the characters changed to adapt to the language it’s translated to? What do you think would their names be?

It can get itself from the etymology of their names, or whatever sounds closest to the original to match the mouth movements in the animation. Feel free to think of something funny, or do this like professional fiction writers would. Character names are, behind the scenes, taken more seriously than it seems, and there are many things to consider in a name.

One example I came up with on the top of my head is Nagisa Furukawa being Clarissa Colorado (was going for English, but it ended up sounding Spanish), with other than the matching syllable count, Colorado got itself from a river in USA. But this is just a lame example. XD

Please mark anything beyond the common route with [spoiler] tags, prodiving adequate context in parenthesis.

I think Tomoya would be ‘Tom’ or something.

Kotarou - Kyle
Shizuru - Selena
Lucia - Lucia
Kotori - Kianna
Chihaya - Charisma
Kagari - Kayla
Sakuya - Sean

Little Busters!

Riki - Ricky
Rin - Raini
Komari - Katie
Kurugaya - Kimberly
Mio - Melody
Kudryavka - Kyla
Saya - Sam/Samantha
Kanata - Katrina
Haruka - Haley
Sasami - Serina

Kyousuke - Kennedy

CLANNAD

Tomoya - Tom/Thomas

All those names are great. But just thinking about dubbing “names” is horrifying.

nah man, Kyousuke is Kyle, and Kengo and Riki only need to be Ken and Rick.

It would be funny though, if Rin’s dub name would be Nadine, and her childhood nickname “Ding” (as in the sound of the bell), and she’s not even embarrassed about it. Incidentally, “Nadine” means “hope.”

Gosh, looking at what the names would be if dubbed makes me cringe. But if anything, it feels like Chihaya would be “Cerise” which feels like it matches her perfectly.

With the defition of a color at the end of the color spectrum (next to orange); resembling the color of blood or cherries or tomatoes or rubies", it fits both her uniform and hair which is what really stand out in her character design.

That’s a pretty nice name, and it also match the actual badass name that Chihaya originally has. Her given name was taken from the Japanese expression “Chihayafuru,” which is usually used to describe the greatness of a god. Ohtori (Fenghuang) is a mythical Chinese bird symbolizing the imperial family/ royalty.

Since the Fenghuang is also associated with “fire,” it further convinces me that “Cerise” easily suits her. Not to mention it sounds quite classy, matching her “rich kid” impression. I personally like it.

(Rewrite) I’m laughing my ass off picturing a mysterious black robed badass jumping around buildings killing monsters like they’re nothing. And he’s named “Sean”

I have two terrible dubs:
Yumemi - Selene (after Greek goddess of the moon, it was the first space related name that came to mind)
Kappei - Lesley (because its a male & female name that’s almost always female)
