My thoughts on the TV Size version of the songs:
Last Desire is good shit man. It’s just among the types of song that I tend to like a lot, and Maon Kurosaki’s singing is amazing. I’ve already heard about her since a few years back, but I didn’t really know that she sings so well. It also adds that based Shinji Orito composed it, and the composer of my favorite Kill la Kill song (Eir Aoi’s Sirius) did the arrangement. Also dat funky bassline.
Instincts is really beautiful. Really really beautiful. If there’s any flaw that I need to point out, it’s that Runa Mizutani’s voice gets a little too shrill at high notes, but I generally like her voice. The instrumentation is wonderful, as expected from arranger Yuuichirou Tsukagoshi. They’re seemingly low-key, as they let the vocals stand out and shine. But it’s quite intricate, and builds up tension from verse to prechorus to the chorus so well. Also, really nice use of synths; I especially like the sweeping sound and the lil bit of brightness synth sounds at the first part of the chorus, and the running synth lead at the start.
I’d love to hear them in full version.
