In all honesty, I had little to zero expectations for this SideStory.
Given the announced them of idol debut and have listened to those idol-songs of LuChihaya, I thought it would be written extremely bland. And especially when I am not a fan of Ryuukishi07’s style… I was preparing for the worse.
…But now, that I’ve read it, I can say that this short-story was a better experience than whole 1st anime season.
It felt really Harvest festa!-like. Characters interactions were mostly fun and even the song in the end was more satisfacting, than when I’ve 1st listened to it.
Only 1 CG appeared in this sidestory at the very end, but as there is no gallery mode to see it you will have to actually replay story. There is a way to save just before the final, I guess…
Chihaya was written the same way she is in Luchiya’s original route and it irked me a bit, but dynamics of her conversations with Luchiya were fine.
All in all, it was fun. I hope that the 2nd part would be at least as good as was the 1st one… Next ep’s preview was rather “dramatic”, so now I do have some expectations.

How long is it?

Around 1-1.5 hours, I think.
I was doing other stuff while reading, so it took me around 2 hours to complete. If you read in one go it should be faster.
2nd Volume be the direct continuation of this story, though.

I see, then it shouldn’t be too hard to translate one day I hope.
