OMG… I literally felt like I was playing a horror novel with my first encounter with him. Scared the pants off of me everytime. Also hurt my ears. You saying that is like a war veteran getting flashbacks for me, the terror.

He scared the shit out of me with his screaming the first time,too. Well, I immediately turned his sound of for the rest of the VN. The fight with him in Terra was pertty nice 
It did frighten me a few times, but it didn’t nearly as much as the glass breaking in Lucia’s route. My god did I get spooked that route.

Esaka too spook NASEDAAAAAAAAAAA
First time I saw Esaka I thought he would be only a ‘‘joke’’ reference character to Ronove (Umineko), I was totally wrong, he is one of my favourite characters thanks to Terra, he impressed me, and almost made me cry in Terra
Am I the only one who feels like Esaka’s mustache looks completely wrong, like it’s being held on by a piece of tape? Also his face looks too young.
I love the character, but I can’t stand the character design!

They kind of tried to give him an old-yet-young sort of vibe with that style, though I guess it didn’t work so well. Hinoue has times when she just makes some awfully designed characters haha
I guess it just sticks out to me because the other characters are so much better, including the other male side characters like Sakuya and Imamiya. Esaka just looks…amateur.

Let the song play (don’t worry, no jumpscares) as you read my words describing why Esaka became my second favorite character.
Esaka, despite being a side character in Rewrite, had a lot to offer. Now, here is a list of the things I liked about Esaka:
1- his character design. Erm… Yes I liked his character design. The gentleman-look is something you don’t see everyday. (Also he has a mustache). looking at the anime version of him makes me sad, but I’m talking about the original here.
2- His unique personality. Having such a position in a huge organization is a huge responsibility, yet he acts like a normal old man which is great imo, not to mention that he treats Shizuru so well.
Also, the sudden shouting thing is one of my favorite parts when it comes to Esaka’s personality. Yes, I almost died of heart attack, but I still find it really interesting.
3- and most importantly, his decision making.
I can talk about this for days. I’ve been watching anime/reading VNs for a long time now, but still I find it rare to find a character that has better decision making than Esaka.
He tries to choose what’s best for humanity in the first place because he finds saving humanity no matter what his first priority. But at the same time he tries his best to keep his men safe by not making stupid decisions.
I was amazed by his death scene in Tera, after becoming a great teacher for Kotarou, he admits his defeat and changes his point of view after knowing he was wrong.
“Defeat is good once in a while, it allows you to admit things you couldn’t admit before”

The reason I like Esaka is because he was… Wrong.
I know I didn’t talk in details, but I hope that you know now why I like Esaka.
A character like Esaka should have more fans imo. And that actually makes me sad, if only people thought for 1 minute about how good Esaka is…
