[spoiler]Even if Shimako hasn’t a big role in Akane route. I believe she was essential to show the story of the Holy Woman. She allows to show a concrete example of Transcription, something which would remained unclear despite the explanations of Akane. The words are only words.

An other element that I appreciate is her weird relationship with Akane. In many other game, They would’ve been probably like sisters. But here, there is a distance and Akane doesn’t hesitate to send her to the death to protect the Key like the other summoners.
However, she regrets that Shimako doesn’t come to visit her and eventually take care her with Kotarou and does not take her to the choir. Leaving her a chance.

It allowed perhaps to show the evolution of Akane. Normally, their relationship would surely have been the same as Akane and Sakura Kashima because they are too similar. But Akane managed to show affection and to give her something before leaving. Not like Kashima to her death

Her character was certainly interesting to say the least, and I really liked her.

The fact that she was mute for most of her appearance in Akane’s route only emphasized her breakdown at the end. That had me in tears.

I liked her childishness a lot. I felt as if it helped me understand her a bit, kinda like how Shizuru was.

I really don’t know what else to say besides the fact that Shimako is adorable. Yeah I’m not that much of a deep thinker.

I was ending the third chapter of Shimako’s route in Ignis Memoria and then

After the battle scene… WTF with that depressing end.
I don´t know if that fits more here or in the Ignis Memoria post

For context, Shimako’s 3rd scenario tells the story of Shimako becoming the holy woman. At the start, Akane is attacked and falls into a coma. Shimako’s speech starts improving rapidly, and she becomes more and more like Akane over the course of the story. She even develops a taste for coffee which I thought was a decently subtle detail because most kids won’t drink something so bitter. Long story short, Shimako aims to destroy Guardian for what they did to Akane, and in the end she obliterates them with the Earth Dragon.

Yeah, I understand the development (medium japanese level) but I don’t remember Akane being that choleric and with that laugh in the end :yahaha:

She was an interesting character and I would say one of my favorite supporting characters all time ( I mean check my profile pic ).
Just like what @Toullaty has mentioned the basic concept of transcription between the Holy Woman would have remained unclear if she didn’t exist. In addition, I got the feeling she represents the childish aspect of Akane in contrast to her usual strict and indifferent personality.
