Kashima was shown as a women who didn’t like the idea of “life” itself. Would you agree with the reasonings she had, the mindset she had, and the argument she was trying to make ? Or would you disagree with it ?

Okay, so since a close friend of mine who’s only seen the anime brought this up and my memory regarding details from the visual novel is failing me; why (do you think) didn’t Sakura Kashima just force the Song of Destruction from the very beginning? Why does she wait until the plot gets heavy? Is there any in-universe justification or is it just so we can actually have a story?

Wasn’t the point of the song of destruction that it was intended as a fail-safe if the Key becomes nonfunctional?

In terra route, it was because Suzaki stopped Kashima to do so. I think the song started when Suzaki was killed by Guardian. Before the death Suzaki gave Guardian a warning that if he died, Kashima would go out of control .
In Akane oroute, Kashima has less power and Suzaki might stop it, and when they got half-died Key, I guess they can’t help using strong measure because if they didn’t use the song, Key would die.

And in anime, I don’t know the reason. They just killed Suzaki and went to salvation… I think it is because Kashima is going to die, she was a bit rushed and decided to ignore Suzaki. The situation might like Shizuru route. (I don’t remember the detail, but there were mamono in town and the song was sung.)
In Chihaya route this didn’t occur because they succeeded to caught Key, in Lucia they were killed by the poison, and in Kotori it was stopped by Chihaya and Akane, I guess.

I’d like to think that it’s because Kagari’s existence hasn’t been known yet to Gaia.

For me Sakura is one of those “Villains that I can’t hate”, in some point her hate for the life is even justificable if we see her like the Holy Woman and not like Sakura.

I think that she don’t use the Song until the very end cause she can mantain itself like Sakura over the others Holy Womans. I more or less remember Suzaku talking about Sakura before becoming the Holy Woman and inherit the personality of the others.
