Still waiting for Harvest Festa to get translated so I can become satisfied after that bs of an ending.
Kotori is a fantastic psuedo-main heroine and I really loved her route, but I just didn’t like the ending.

Nobody did, and nobody was satisfied with the romantic tension in her route
I don’t know if I’ve said it before on this forum, but Yoshino made me cry more than Kotori did in her own route
Haha, Yoshino really shines there.
Yoshino shines whenever he takes action.
I noticed something, if you listen at the soundtrack called Scattered Flowers at 3:06 you can hear an odd sound that sounds like Chibimoth. This is in any version of the song I’ve heard.
It is the song that plays when Chibimoth dies.
Chibimoth’s death was for me the saddest moment in this VN.
Nothing made me cry as much as this, the only things that came close were Sakuya 's sacrifice, Panil & Gil’s death in Chihaya’s route, the ending of the Moon route, and when Kotarou met the little Kotori in Terra.
I don’t hear it…
It can be hard to hear. It’s an odd noise that isn’t part of the song.
To me it sounds like Chibi’s voice. It’s around 3:05-3:08 in most youtube versions of the song. But you can also just open the song in Rewrite’s gallery, it’s there too.
Hmmm listening to the OST version and one on youtube and I can’t hear it either >_<
But I agree that it is one of the saddest moments
It can be hard to hear. It’s not “Mosu” but it’s an odd squeak that doesn’t sound like an instrument.
To me it sounds like the echo of Chibi’s voice. If you’ve seen fanmade OSTs from tv shows, you’ve often heard “voice echoes” in the background of the music, sounding like some sort of whisper or echo of a voice. That is what it sounds like to me.
I went through that section like ten times and didn’t hear anything. I think your brain is probably just associating it with Chibi due to the scene it plays. Try getting an mp3 of the exact part you’re talking about and maybe it’ll be more clear.
I hear it both in a direct rip, every version on youtube, and the one ingame itself. I personally think it sounds like chibi but for someone else it may simply sound like a disturbance or something.
It could just be an instrument going off-key maybe?
I really don’t hear anything. Nothing remotely like anything I think could be related.
It’s actually at 3:06-3:07 and hard to detect unless you’re told to watch out for it. I’m pretty sure that’s the sound of a violin. Proably something like a violin player moving the bow and accidentally touching the instrument when he shouldn’t have for just a short moment.
Indeed it’s possible.
It just sounded odd and squeaky to me. But as I said, it could easily be an instrument doing something odd.’
I just found it cute to think it was Chibi (:
I never thought it was actually Chibi. The only way it could be Chibi is if something this happened:
‘During the developement a fire broke out, and every rendition of the song was destroyed except for one. One in a recording of a Chibi’s death. It’s almost the full song except for the part where Chibi cries before dying. They re-record it and digitally remove Chibi’s voice, except for that tiny remnant they missed in one spot of the song.’
Uh, Sanka was played for Chibimoth’s death? I thought Sanka is Sakuya’s exclusive BGM.
Speaking of Kotori’s route, this is one trivial things from Rewrite HF Kotori’s route (but this trivia is nothing about Kotori at all, really)
In Moon route, Kotarou saw glimpse of “other possible routes” like him marrying Kotori or him marrying a random office lady. That office lady has a name which I forgot, but I’m pretty sure in Kotori’s HF, when Kotarou escaped from the hospital (with a strength of a baby) he was helped by a woman - which I am sure has the same name with that office lady.
I had a hard time figuring out what was happening to Kotori and then it did not make sense of what was happening with his arm. Is it a ghost? From what I read throughout all your comments it certainly makes sense to read the whole of the story.
yeaaaaah it’s better to read the rest of the story before you start thinking about it. There’s a reason why people recommend reading Kotori’s route as the first route in the game
Thinking of Terra… I actually really loved Kotori in this route, but everything about her felt so different. She was a gifted child with a sharp tongue, who was seemingly really bad at making friends. I love the whole gifted child archetype, it’s something I’ve always loved. But after seeing Kotori later in the story, I can’t think of them as the same person. Kotori in the early game doesn’t strike me as a genius at all, she seems very normal. I guess being able to master the powers of a summoner and construct an entire sanctuary for herself in the forest kinda hints at this, and the fact that she didn’t have many friends at school might tie in, but they still feel so radically different. I guess you can justify it after everything that happened with her parents and Kotarou that forced her to change, but it bugs me how different the two Kotoris are. To be honest I like the younger one a hundred times more, heh.
I feel exactly the same way, really. Perhaps the death of her parents changed her to have to hide her inner snarkiness? I don’t even understand it. Unlike you, though, I prefer teenage Kotori
I think exactly that is the point. After losing her parents, Pero, and kind of Kotarou, she recalled Kotarou telling her she won’t make any friends with that kind of attitude. And I think exactly that is what she did. She changed herself completely. And I always thought it seemed really forced sometimes- especially when she’s fooling around, pretending to be an idol and what not. Sometimes it just seemed like she was trying too hard to conceal her true personality, which I noticed especially in some parts during her route, when she literally breaks her character that she made up. After she lost everyone, she tried her best to make friends, at the cost of her own self.
