New Details of Key's Upcoming Summer Pockets Revealed: It's a Mecha Game?!

Big Summer Pockets news is here, and it’s certainly not the news we were expecting to wake up to today! Earlier this week pamphlets were handed out at Anime Japan by VisualArt’s depicting new art of the main heroine of Key’s upcoming game Summer Pockets, Shioha Naruse, standing in front of what appears to be a mecha! Twitter user @Azu612Ritu took the above photo of the pamphlet which immediately caught our attention. I don’t think many of us expected Key to ever make a mecha series, and yet here we are! Turns out there was much more to Summer Pockets than we were originally thinking.

What??? I saw rumours of Shinji Orito working with Hiroyuki Sawano, but for something within Key??? Oh my god it must’ve been for this, can’t wait for the most epic visual novel soundtrack ever.

I am absolutely hyped for this news!
Yes, finally! Finally Key is going to do stuff right!
Mechas! Yes! I felt like this new VA work should turn out to be smth really big and I am glad to see that I was right!
It is amazing! I hope that robot would be RED! So it can be 3x times faster than anything else.
Oh, this is so good!

Or it could could be a mech nakige. Key loves broken junky machines so I’m sure they can work it into a symbolic sub-plot of the MC growth or something.

How about a growing mobile suit? It’s feeling of unrequited love for enemy units. It’s suffering and searching for a way to stop the massacre while the Protagonist-kun is deadlock on battle-royaling his way to the harem ending.

Is it me or Summer Mechas would sell more than regular Summer Pockets?

Still, this is quite a shock, but if KEY has been so good at Nakige, imagine what they could do if they brought me has in. This could end up being Code Geass with a sea of tears every 2 episodes. Props to KEY for their innovation (provided that they merge both styles).

Some of the soundtrack names are probably gonna be “With Your Summer Pockets, Pierce The Visual Novel Industry!” or “Aim For The Top, Summer Pockets!”

With the likes of Harmonia and Planetarian starring Robotics;Heroine, I wouldn’t be surprise if SP is actually planned to be a mecha series.

Whoever drew it forgot some very important detail tho,

I think it’s incredible that Key decided to push into a new direction with Summer Pockets. I can see this is going to be one of a kind interesting Key VN. Girls piloting giant mecha and all already sounds like some familiar titles I’ve known in anime for quite a while.

Anyway, I definitely look forward to Summer Pockets more than ever! It’ll be a new experience so that’s always good to know. :happy:

If true, then that sounds pretty neat since I like mecha most of the time. Let’s hope that it turns out well regardless.

It’s too late Aspi, the coincidence in which this article was posted on the same date that Gurren Lagann initially aired connects everything together: Summer Pockets is actually going to be a mecha VN.

I’m fine with Summer Pockets being more standard Key fare or mecha Key fare honestly. What matters is if Summer Pockets is worth reading or not. :smiley:
