Here we are again, continuing the Kazamatsuri readthrough of Higurashi When They Cry with Chapter 2: Watanagashi! Feel free to discuss anything from Ch. 2 and previous chapters here without spoiler tags. Avoid any reference to events beyond this chapter; spoiler tags won’t cut it, just don’t post them at all!
So, how does it feel to be back to Hinamizawa?
(I’ll put things from this arc in spoiler tags for now because I don’t expect anyone to have finished Watanagashi yet)
When I read Watanagashi for the first time it left me with even more questions, obviously, with the most confusing things being the naming of the twins, Takano being dead since before the festival, and Shion hearing the noises in the shrine storage.
Overall it’s a really nice chapter that goes more into the conspiracy-direction than Onikakushi, while still having that really great atmosphere

Oh my, you started cotton drifting. Prepare yourselves everyonn, this arc will bring shivers down your spine. It’s my personal favorite, get ready for a mind blowing experience. I think everybody will apreciate the grandeur of this part of the story once you reach the Meakashi-hen ( eye opening arc).
