This is a good interview. Her description of Maeda is pretty interesting and actually makes a lot of sense when I think about it. Also, I had no idea Lia had her own Vocaloid until now. I guess I’ve got some more music to find. :open_mouth:

Heh, L-IA. I see what they did there.

I also had no idea she voiced IA…

Wow really? Come on guys :stuck_out_tongue:

I got interested in IA because of Lia, but now I like IA as a completely separate entity. Hands-down best Vocaloid yeah

I liked the part about Maeda, haha. I need to look more into Vocaloid stuff; that’s a pretty fascinating field.

Man that story was quite something, it was just a matter of chance that she got picked… I really loved the interview I’ve been wondering about Lia for awhile. I hope she comes to USA and other parts of the world. I do want to see her sing.

As for IA, when I heard Lia was getting a vocaloid I was extremely hyped. However when IA came out it sounded just like every other vocaloid, it really pretty much killed my vocaloid fandom and made me like Lia herself way more. It was actually kind of a big deal for me when IA came out, it ironically made me lose my vocaloid fandom since I knew Lia way before IA came around. I was imagining the vocaloid would sound like her, but it really doesn’t at all imo. Like it doesn’t surprise me people don’t know she voiced it because they sound nothing alike, which was a huge disappointment for me. They really feel like the two completely different people/things, and well I just never got into IA… Also Lia sounded worried that IA would overshadow her so it isn’t a bad thing to have fans like me I guess? That makes me a feel a little better to be honest.

I didn’t think it was possible, but I think I love Lia even more after reading this. Really interesting interview.

Also:

She mentions another song which she recorded down the road, “Toki wo Kizamu Uta”, for Clannad After Story. It was the most difficult song she had ever recorded for an anime.

I don’t doubt that for a second. That song is haaaaard
