HOLY BREAKER! PV Released!

A new PV for Itaru Hinoue's HOLY BREAKER! -The Witch Betrayed Blue Moon Wicca.- has been uploaded to the VisualArt's Youtube channel, and posted on the HOLY BREAKER! official website. The PV is likely to be the opening video of the game, featuring art of the two heroines as well as some of the background CGs. Check it out for yourself below! The game will be available for purchase on the 28th of December at Comiket 87.

Haruka(brown haired girl) kinda seems like a bitch with an ā€œI am holier than thouā€-attitude, she also looks really sadistic in those images.

Itaru Hinoue was art director and character designer for Rewrite soā€¦ yeah. Itā€™s sort of inevitable that youā€™ll be able to draw similarities to her other characters based on her distinct art style alone.

That said, I dunno, I didnā€™t get the feeling that they were too similar.

Hinoue has done almost all of Keyā€™s characters; Na-Ga did some in LB!, but other than that I think sheā€™s done all of them.

Yeah, I know. I just pointed out Rewrite since thatā€™s what they were talkinā€™ about.

Actually, she apparently didnā€™t do planetarian or Tomoyo After, but thatā€™s it.

Hmmā€¦ I feel like those arenā€™t the best voices they could have found for those characters, but what do I know. It still looks like a pretty good read, so Iā€™m still going to get it. eventuallyā€¦

Nice to see it on the Visual Arts channel.
THEORY CRAFT- Would have been a Key VN but they were upset with Rewrite, so they said theyā€™d give her social media outlets for advertisement, but das it, and then produce it if it did well after.

Crazy? Yeah I agree but it entertained me.

Also Flamescythe-chan is beyond the best girl. Her design is >>>>>>>>>>>>>> the other girl in a bajillion ways.

Funny story about thatā€¦ Minase actually shares the same voice as the character in my profile pic(who also carries a giant red scythe, in case you cant see). I knew I recognized her voice as soon as I heard it, but it took me a bit to actually find out who it wasā€¦

I do agree though that Harukaā€™s design could have been a lot better. at itā€™s base I like it, but I think they took the whole thing in the wrong direction.

Hinoueā€™s over boob-a-tizing things gets out of hand sometimes. This is one of those times, and is the only thing that I really dislike. That outfit and her proportions in the upper body are absurd.

Hinoue has done a lot of Tacticsā€™ and Keyā€™s VN art. I think itā€™s just that she was given more of a say in designing Rewrite, and total freedom with HOLY BREAKER! These types of characters and fantasy worlds are very very Hinoue-ey, as opposed to the plain slice-of-life styled designs from earlier Key works.

While she has designed a wide variety of characters, thereā€™s no question that Hinoue has shown an affinity towards drawing well-proportioned young ladies. In fact, the trend of drawing characters this way has become more pronounced from the time she started at Key until now. From what Iā€™ve read, she chooses to design characters this way because she personally likes the way they look (though Iā€™m sure it doesnā€™t hurt that it is a preferred feature according to the visual novel marketā€™s primary demographic). I think as she continues to express her preferences through her characters weā€™ll continue to see a fair mix of characters of all body types, some larger proportioned, some less so.

I think you mean well endowed ( Ķ”Ā° ĶœŹ– Ķ”Ā°)

But yeah, thatā€™s just her thing. Itā€™s a very distinct style and her characters usually end up being hit-or-miss on how much you like the design, without much in-between. Or at least thatā€™s how I feel.

Iā€™d have to say terribly proportioned lol, with an exception being Kurugaya because she is a giant, after all. She can draw however she likes, itā€™s just not for me is all. :stuck_out_tongue: Again, Kurugaya is probably the sole exception. -3- (Lucia, pls)

Itā€™s nowhere near as bad as some others- But again itā€™s just how it looks to me.
