“The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.”, that’s a quote from someone, some time not relevant. While this route doesn’t paint it as black and white as that, this is what I see at the core of the story. Kazuto chose a new family for himself, but Yukine doesn’t have any problems with her parents. She accepts both her genetic relatives and the family she earned for herself. That portrayal of how anyone could be family is done elsewhere in clannad, but I definitely think it’s done the best here.
