ehem
Ah yes, Angelo, my fellow countryman. Angelo represents a lot of things about the Philippines! His attire is a good representation of the environment of the country. The constant heat in the country would force one to wear loose, short, and brightly-colored clothing. The slippers also show his choice of practicality due to his implied state of poverty.
You might be surprised to hear this, but even his hairstyle is representative of a subculture of the Philippines! Obviously, that sort of hair color is not natural to someone from the country, and the equally gaudy hairstyle is something that just stands out like a sore thumb. However, that hairstyle and hair color is a pretty common occurrence, especially for families in the lower income strata. It’s kind of a running joke where we comment that “these people barely have enough money to buy food and still manage to find a way to dye their hair”.
tl;dr Angelo is unmistakably Filipino, and the accuracy that P.A. Works has in representing the Philippines is just spot-on.
THAT ASIDE, now for the most important part about Angelo. Here are all of Angelo’s dialogue, taken from Charlotte Episode 13
