Today, Sekai Project posted a thread on Reddit asking everyone to submit their best questions to VisualArt's/Key, with the top 10 most upvoted questions being sent to VisualArt's/Key for a response (excluding any questions they refuse to answer). By going to the thread, you can contribute by submitting your own questions, upvoting the ones you like and downvoting the ones you don't. This is a huge opportunity for western Key fans to engage with Key like never before!
I'd like for everyone to use this topic to brainstorm good questions to ask, and share which questions already on the thread you think we should support with our votes. Let's make sure this AMA is worthwhile!
So, off the record, Iād like to bring up some personal concerns I have. I feel like a lot of those 10 spots are going to be wasted on questions that are either too similar to one another, or already have a predictable response. Quite a few of the spots right now are already occupied by āWill you release Angel Beats! in the west?ā, which will almost certainly be answered with generic PR, something to the effect of āIf sales of CLANNAD are promising, we will consider it.ā. Thatās a lot of potential questions wasted on what I believe to be a pointless effort.
So hereās what Iād like us to do. Use this topic as a place to brainstorm good quality questions to post on the thread. Iād like us to work together to agree on questions we need to boost up on the thread. But also, as a bit of an agressive tactic, Iād like it if we could agree on questions which we need to keep below the top 10; questions we need to downvote together. Some might say this is a bit manipulative, but I really donāt want to see this amazing opportunity get wasted on pointless questions. If you agree with my sentiment, then help me out here. Letās brainstorm some great questions to ask together!
I share the same concerns about the types of questions being asked.
Iām particularly curious about if the English āHikari Mimamoru Sakamichi deā release will contain the three short stories found in the āCLANNAD 10th Anniversary Art Bookā as a nod of support to the English speaking fan base. That being said, it would be a shame if all the questions selected were about localizations or other topics which could be answered generically. I suspect Key wonāt go into too much detail, and itās hard to tell how exact their answers will be conveyed. Iām all for conversing to determine quality questions to ask!
Yeah that is a real concern but I still find it really cool that they are actually taking the time to answer questions from the western fanbase and its in one of the more less popular subreddits.
Unfortunately, I doubt we get any good in-depth answers for the creative side of things. The most voted questions so far is will there be more stuff released across the international dateline. Seems like a waste of a good opportunity, all the cool stuff gets buried under āwill we get more animeā.
I agree that we will almost certainly get a āwe might consider itā answer for this, but as Biz brought up in the skype chat, what having this one at the top would do is demonstrate to Key the huge support there is for something like that.
Honestly, what Iād like to see answered in this topic is something of a factual nature. Probably because itās one of our only chances to ask them something, we might as well have something asked that we will not be able to confirm unless it comes from them specifically.
Then again, this is a question to the company, which may or may not reach the storywriters. Either way, that is the point I am trying to make. I canāt think of anything to ask them in that regard yet >_<
Things are starting to shift around a little. Iāve spent a lot of time responding to comments that either I believe are really worthwhile questions, or arenāt. Youāll see my face in the thread plenty of times
5 hours til the AMA closes. Top 10 right now isnāt toooo bad. Thereās a couple of questions Iām sad didnāt get higher (like mine, ahaha), but Iām pretty happy with what we have right now.
