Rewrite - Anime Pre-Release Discussion & Speculation

good idea. I prefer the Soil Ver. Of that song though, just cause the original sounds more happy (not to mention it played during not-so-sad scenes in the common).

And Yes ! Hinagiku Orgel ver. Would honestly be perfect. Something beautiful (as in a beautiful OST) to play during the last scene would be perfect. Then we’ll have Canoe afterwards, which will be beautiful.

Link to that song ? Doesn’t come up when typing the English translation.
I thought that Orbita - Annabel from the “Branch” album would be great for a Terra ED. After everything (if they do adapt everything), the song will be relieving to hear at the end of the episodes.

My guess is that they will reveal the episode count if it’s a satisfying episode count. But will most likely not reveal the episode count if it’s only 13 episodes, leading to unsatisfied fans.

With Rewrite, it’s something that both Key, Aniplex, and 8-Bit all have to worry about. They have to worry about how the adaption goes, how much episodes there is, if they actually format it correctly, and so on.

Pls. Harmonia Anime Announcement after Rewrite’s done ? Would die for a Harmonia&Planetarian double-feature-film announcement. Pls. But Toei. Just no.

I don’t think they care if fans will like the episodes count. If 8bit cared they wouldn’t have taken the project if they didn’t have the funds. If Aniplex or Key cared they would have put more money in.

Something to remember is anime generally serves as an advertisement for the source material. In that case they should be more worried trying to sell Rewrite to new people than trying to make people who already bought it (or read it in someway) happy. It’s always great getting a good adaptation but that’s usually not the main goal.

It’s pretty obvious that they would care about the episode count. Rewrite is a big project. It’s the thing that will either break 8-Bit into oblivion, or save 8-Bit from the disastrous Comet Lucifer and Grisaia adaption.

I doubt that they would have taken on the project without knowing how disastrous it could become

As for the second thing, I pretty much think that doesn’t apply to places outside of Japan if we’re talking about VN’s, since VN’s aren’t as popular outside of Japan. I mean, look at the CLANNAD anime. People know CLANNAD solely on the anime whenever it’s mentioned, not the VN as much. It’s because the anime format is to also give out the story to a wider audience. If it fails as an adaption, I doubt that people would buy the visual novel.

Is Rewrite any bigger than Grisaia and Walkure Romanze tho? Those (along with Rewrite) were top 3 VNs in 2011 (can’t remember the exact order) yet 8bit graced the previous two with 13 episodes (WR had Pony Canyon who’s backed CLANNAD, Attack on Titan and a couple other things).

The thing you also seem to be forgetting is anime is made for Japanese not English speakers so it really doesn’t matter if that doesn’t apply to English audiences as Rewrite isn’t being made for them.

For an example of your last point School-Live (Gakkougarashi) is a great anime but terrible adaptation. I’m buying the manga as it comes out because it’s similar enough that I still like it but while watching the anime I could tell it didn’t follow the source very well. I’ve heard similar things to a friend in Japan and their experience with ERASED so I don’t thing a poor adaptation will stop being from buying the source.

Yeah, no matter what we would like to think as fans, Rewrite is not really that huge of a deal, at least not coming into the season; not only for the consumers, but especially for the producers like Aniplex.

Episode count’s probably gonna depend on two things majorly and one thing minorly: first and foremost, 1) How much money Aniplex puts into this show, and 2) How much work 8bit is willing/able to put into it. The number of episodes needed to tell the story in the way they want to tell it is unfortunately probably the minor factor here.

Ohhh ! That song is great ! Maybe 2 ED’s for Terra ? They could play Orbita for the first half since it’s more lighthearted, and then that Crann Mor song for the second half, since it’s more dark. (Basing it on the hope that there will be 13 episodes for terra)

I wouldn’t be opposed to that! Seems like a very fitting song. I always thought Terra was pretty gloomy and dark throughout; however there were some lighthearted moments. Though, don’t they normally do two endings for 2 cour shows? Like if the second season (addtional route(s) + Terra) was 24 episodes, then they would do two endings? Guess it just depends on the episode count. I personally think it’ll end up 24 + OVA (Moon) + 13 (Terra)

Yep. They only do 2 different endings (if they choose to) for anime’s that have around 24 episodes, sadly. (And different OP’s too of course). An example of this would be in Guilty Crown, when the arc ends and a new arc begins. Food award also had this, though I don’t think there was a specific thing/event that happened to make the new OP/ED show the second course. (Other than for the fact that maybe they just wanted to create new music)

There’s also an event that occurs in the middle part of the story that makes the story shift, making it a good idea to do another OP/ED for the new content we get.

Since Terra is best fit for 13 episodes, they’ll most likely only stick to 1 ED (until the last episode of course, where Canoe will play), sadly.

But what can I say ? We’re dreamers ~_~

I think I’ve also encountered an anime once where each episode had a different ending song, weirdly. Though I can’t remember the anime title.

The fact that you say this only means you have yet to complete Rewrite to the fullest. Go back and read the Oppai route because THIS IS THE HYPEST THING EVER! :stuck_out_tongue:

I did, and completed Oppai route. Saw something about Creamy Kagarin. So is this Oppai route adaption or something?

EDIT:
It is a Planetarium movie adaption!!

Oppai route spoilers:

She finally got popular enough! T^T

Hahaha oh wow, how could I forget that? That makes a great April 1st joke. Thanks for the reminder!

Well… No Rewrite PV then…

Shame. Now that Planetarian is announced, I’m finding it increasingly hard to stay hyped for Rewrite. My personal preference is strong in this, but if there was any time for a Rewrite PV it was today.

I feel like my excitement has taken a 180, and now that a series I have a greater preference for is getting the limelight, my devotion towards Rewrite is slowly fading more and more

The day has only just started. I wouldn’t rule out anything until the end of April 1st.

As someone said on MAL, apparently the April 1st announcement was not only on the Rewrite website alone, it was also in the Dengeki G magazine article about Rewrite and at the AnimeJapan Rewrite booth. Why would you bring out Planetarian anime announcement only if every announcement was on Rewrite’s ground? Technically this could be another joke from Key and they will show us a preview, later today. I hope that’s the case but I can’t have any hopes right now… It’s a bit tiring.

This is a classical April Fools’ joke - a certain girl gets a spin-off as a magical girl saving the day. For example, one year ago, a poster of Chino from GochiUsa dressed as such was made and a new anime titled as “Is the order a Magical Girl?” was announced. Despite it being a joke, a few months later they made a character song “Magical Girl Chino” and were selling CDs at Comiket 88.

So I think we can expect more Creamy Kagarin goods, sooner or later. She’s too cute to just leave it like that.
