The first 20 seconds or so are obviously from Moon…
Holy shit Im getting really excited now. It would be so cool if they put that first. As the article said, Im sure some people are still convinced that this would “spoil Rewrite”, but Im telling you, Ive thought through this several times, and putting the beginning of Moon at the start of the story would create such an interesting presentation. Not only would it make it “less confusing” (as they said they wanted to do), but it would set a completely different tone for the story, which I would love to see.
As for the art. Its obviously very flat, which is kinda startling at first, but I think it still fits well with Rewrite. The animation itself is a bit rough in some parts, but the moments of really lively movement look so cool they make up for it in my opinion.

Kotarou’s monologue at the beginning took place in Moon anyway, so it works out in my opinion
Interesting. I’m glad that they seem to be going in the direction I wanted them to, which was to start with moon and then introduce each of the heroine’s arcs.
The art of course isn’t as pretty as past key animations, but for a story like rewrite with many action-centric scenes, I feel that smoothness is far more important. We’ll see how things turn out.
If they do another season, I hope they can really just focus on terra and focus on the themes and ideas (growing up, environmentalism, etc) expressed there. Looks good so far.
I don’t remember reading or seeing anything in the official sites/twitter about the PV only having scenes from the first episode.
Aside from that the PV got me really excited for the anime 
I can’t wait to enjoy the show with you all!!

I recognized scenes from nearly all routes. As much of a surprise they started out with Moon, if they plan on animating all routes…I’m definitely worried.
In my mind, the split cour theory wouldn’t work if they showed scenes in this PV for this season? As in, everything in the PV would be explained during the 13 episodes???

I’m looking forward to it at any rate. I’m not really going to speculate too heavily though; as far too many things are still unknown.
Looks like they are funneling everything into the action scenes and the moe shots. It’ll never hold up to my dream of a Ufotable Rewrite, but they look to be focusing on the right things.
Gonna disagree there. The Clannad VN wasn’t very appealing visually, but the Kanon and especially AIR VNs have nice visuals imo.
Season 1 of LB was pretty ugly, but they stepped it up for Refrain.[quote=“csr, post:6, topic:2881”]

I don’t think this is a pretty show, but none of the things you bring up are explanations as to why it is so. Those are all stylistic choices. The characters are simple and smooth-edged. The colors are bright and colorful but never harsh or washed-out. Enough to cause some discomfort for some, but not enough to make it feel claustrophobic. It’s very fitting of what Rewrite Common is. It does however seem to be filled with QUALITY, possibly due to a lack of time, money or staff. Basically, the animation is either incomplete or was called-in, making use of cheap workers.
Take stills of this PV and the upcoming anime and they’ll look nice enough.
I hate a lot of Key stuff. Litbus and AIR are trash, and Clannad is pretty sucky overall. I like to think I can actually explain myself though, and provide some details to discuss.
The start of Rewrite was pretty hinty towards some of that stuff.

I actually enjoyed watching the PV and I trying to contain my excitement for the anime. I love seeing the characters animated, especially Gil and Pani, but Chibimoth already got me loving him a lot more. The animation does look fairly decent and I won’t complain about minor issues as some of the posts I read so far. Only a few more days left!

Ima make this short.
when it comes to Aesthethics for example Kotarou hoping around: Pretty good. I wanted to get the same atmosphere feeling as from the VN, it’s not exactly what I imagined but at it could be worse so Im satisfied.
As Taka said, I think it will have really good action scenes that we wanted to see so much (well at least I did).
Other than that my overall impression is: hype
but damn some of the shots… like kotarou talking with yoshino just looks awful to me
