Little Busters! - Music Discussion

After buying a few of the LB! songs and listening to them through a good stereo system and independently of the game, I have decided that my favourite tune of all has to be “Boys Don’t Cry”. It’s just so beautifully composed.

So for the highly sought after Starfish awards…

Gold starfish: “Boys Don’t Cry”
Silver starfish: “Tomoshibi/Lamplight”
Bronze starfish: "Two Sugars/Osatō Futatsu).

I saw the name of the thread and felt that I have to get in on it.

First and foremost, the opening of the original 2007 VN. It’s not as polished as the newer ones, but something about Rita’s vocal work in the original opening just makes it a level above every other version to me.

Alicemagic (rockstar version) is the best ending imo. An upbeat tune that consonates brilliantly with the athmosphere of the good endings it’s used in, put into a perfectly fitting rock arrangement. Nothing less. Original Alicemagic is not far behind, though.

Incommunicable Message (MintJam rock arrangement). It just brings out every deep feeling that the original soundtrack couldn’t fully demonstrate. Left me stunned the first time I heard it.

Mortal Combat. I remember it under a more epic name “Commanding Struggle To The Death”, but it still delivers tons nonetheless. Hard-hitting, epic (I used the word twice, sorry for my poor vocabulary) and beautiful when that solo hits. An almost perfect theme for a final boss in some JRPG.

In the Town of Unending Rain. Oh, the feels. Do I have to say more?

If I Realized In Time. Goes the same way as In the Town of Unending Rain.

Just One Magic Word. The same. When you realize you’re doomed, but the girl next to you still says “smile… it’ll all be alright”. You got my drift.

The soundtracks that I can’t say much about, but still deserve a mention are as follows: Little Busters! Ecstasy ver., The Cat, The Glass and The Round Moon (incidentally, I wrote a track called The Cat and the Moon a while before reading LB! EE), Day Game, Two Sugars, Heroic Battle, Lamplight, Incommunicable Message (original) and The Boys’ Farewell (piano).
