This is wonderful. It’s great to see the Key VNs getting translated in to different languages so that almost anyone can read them. Hopefully it’ll all work out fine. 
Actually they translated the entire CLANNAD from scratch. I can confirm because I suffered through the original horrible TL xP
LB and Rewrite are probably based off fan transalations and, you know what? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. The translators agree to it, the quality of translation is decent, and it becomes a low-cost effort for VA.
I have never seen an original TL for CLANNAD and only bits of its official TL. So, well, if they did it from the scratch. then good. It definetely wasn’t as cheap as take an original fan-tll.
I am not against using fan-tl, I am for using decent fan-tls.
There are slight mistakes in Rewrite’s TL, for example. If they manage to correct all or most of those, then good.

You’ve never experienced the glory of Ticket-kun?!
But yes, the official translation is from scratch due to the poor quality of the fan translation that openly left some lines in After Story untranslated period or riddled with bugs and machine translation. I still remember cringing when I read through it. Here’s a comparison video for a bit of context, but the prologue is nowhere near as bad as After Story was.
