Jun Maeda shares new details about Angel Beats! -1st beat-

Well that definitely means they’re getting way more than just breaking even. But, from what I’ve observed of VisualArt’s responses, they also want the localization to keep the nuances of the Japanese version. In other words, VA has made it clear that a crappy translation would not be considered a success.

I do have high hopes for Sekai Project, as they hired a new team for translation and everything. They just gotta play their cards right, which I’m sure they can do with all the funding they’ve been given

I’m hoping that after Clannad gets released and all that, Sekai Project can move to try and localize Angel Beats 1st Beat as well as the other volumes. They would’ve have a lot of support from the Angel Beats fanbase and since it will be the only untranslated Key visual novel at that point that could turn out very good for them if they manage to release it before someone else translates it.

The other Key visual novels can wait now we must focus on more pressing matters (aka I really need this cuz I can’t fucking read japanese XD)

They don’t even need to take that risk. They could just tell fan translators not to tl Angel Beats.

Well you are right if they announce a localization no one will even bother to translate the visual novel. However a translation might start like a month or 2 after the vn’s release and if it manages to release a patch before Sekai announces or says something about a localization (doubt it but Rewrite was translated very quickly so you never know) that might hurt the project since some people will not want to buy a visual novel that they just finished reading or at the very least they won’t give that much support like they could’ve if Sekai’s release was the only English version of the visual novel available.
