Harmonia - Shiona Character Discussion

Character discussion for Shiona, our main female heroine of Harmonia. She is very positive and happy. I personally love Shiona’s design. Hinoue really did put all her effort into Shiona. I just wish we could have had more time in Harmonia for Shiona moments/scenes, considering how short it was. For those of you who don’t know, she loves Orange music.

What about Shiona do you like, or even dislike? What did you think about her actions in Harmonia? Do you love orange music? How do you think the story would have ended up like if Shiona had refrained from taking any actions to counter Rei’s actions? How did you feel about Shiona’s character, throughout Harmonia?

Shiona is, as we all know, an embodiment of happiness in the visual novel (or should I say, powapowa). Once they show that she’s actually a phiroid, you start to realize that everything she does, she does because she’s a phiroid; the kind that are meant to support humans in their lives.

Shiona shows that happiness isn’t always helpful. It can actually backfire, and people can misinterpret your intents. When shiona wanted to scold and protect tipi, Rei easily misunderstood her intents as something else, because she couldn’t portray it without happiness. Just goes to show how important emotions are in portraying our intents; things like sarcasm just wouldn’t work if they didn’t have some emotion attached to the way they’re expressed.
